Thumbs up.

Not the greatest value but Weaver is great value for his contract and Reasoner's the 4C we need so we could start some early patchwork.
That'd be quite a steal by Vancouver.

Trading back the player we used their draft pick on (6th round in Luongo trade), we always seem to do this to them.

Reasoner should fetch a decent amount by himself though.

I agree and Shirokov is not really a proven NHL player. He's well in the AHL and he's had flashes of great scoring opportunities in the NHL, but so did Jason Krog. He might go as part of a package deal, but he alone won't be able to fetch much.

Maybe Shirokov and a mid level pick. Especially if it's for a defense man because any GM will look at our situation and try to take advantage of our desperation.

Just watch... we'll trade Shirokov, he'll end up getting picked up by some bottom-feeder and pot 25 goals playing way more ice time than he'd otherwise have earned on a competitive team.

Then a bunch of Canuck fans proceed to whine and complain about it.

I prefer to think we'll trade him for something and instead of signing with a **** team as a RFA, he'll go back to Russia and leave them with nothing.

He won't bolt. He wants to make the NHL. He actually likes it here in Winnipeg and his girlfriend is here with him and she took ESL classes to learn English. Shirokov himself has rather good english now as well. Why would they both learn English if they're just going to go back to Russia?

Maybe he's an aspiring to become an English teacher after his hockey career ends.

Shirokov beat up Kadri the other game. He's a good Canadian boy now.
