Byron should play for the simple fact he's good for about 2-3 minutes of puck possession in the opponent's zone every night.

It's kind of lame, but he's got one of the best quality streams available.

Yes he is. Usually smart with the puck and uses his speed well.

Of course, it helps that the team's playing generally well at the moment; if they were in the midst of a losing streak, you can bet Ruff would do a 180 and be alternating Sekera/Butler/Rivet.
