hes also proven he can have a mediocre season and miss the playoffs entirely. Price is having a significantly better year than Halak, its not even a debate.
No doubt, but the same can easily happen to Price as well. And thus far Halak has been the better of the two in the playoffs.
In the end we won't know whether it was the right choice or not until a few more years have passed. One season alone doesn't decide that.
Some of these rentals are starting to look like panic trades. Our boy Sather, for all his faults, does not make panic trades. I'm very content to let the next 10 days run their course and see what develops. I have a feeling we may be looking at player(s) not on everyone's radar.
I'm in the minority but I think Boston made a really good move with the Atl trade. Wheeler isn't as good as people think and Peverly is much better than people think... probably because he isn't under 22. They didn't need Stuart any more, got better on forward and reduced their cap alot. Wheeler in Atlanta doesn't scare me in the least.
Oh, and Wheeler is still going to a good situation. Atlanta is only going to get better. Some seasoning and a few good additions and they will be a force for a while.
Rangers have nobody on their forward units that can deal with Colin White...what else is new ? They should have kept Newbury around . Sorry...I posted this in the wrong thread...me bad .
Vandermeer EDM 2,3 M UFA Lefty McCabe FLA 5,75 M Lefty Hejda CBJ 2,0 M Lefty (Tyutin with one year extra - does not help PP though - maybe Phoenix bound?)
Foote COL 1,25 M UFA Righty DOUBTFUL
Jovanovski PHO 6,5 M Lefty DOUBTFUL
Brewer STL 4,25 M UFA Lefty
White - done too
Phillips has publicly said no to a trade
Nothing really much left --- slim pickings on D
Souray is defintely not the solution...
Stay the course it seems
Ericsson outta Detroit for Gilroy + 3rd rounder?
Do not want McCabe or Hejda.
Vandermeer or Tyutin = OK...
Chris Neil has a no trade list of 10 teams...NYR , NJ , Isles , Buff , Minn , LA , ANA , Edm , St L...and I can't remember the last one . I caught this when I flipped the channel over to the Bos-Ott intermission a few minutes ago .

Do I call your posts crap or stupid...grow up kid .
Grow up kid? Huh? I'm probably older than you. How is what i posted make me a kid? What is your intelligence level at? Doesnt seem very high if that's the conclusion you can come to because of my post.
Listen KID, whoever has more goals at the end of a game wins. Not whoever has more hits or fights. We have tough players. That isnt our problem. Do you even watch the games? You clearly dont or you just know jack **** about hockey and/or this team if you think we need a tough guy to solve our problems. A tough guy isnt going to help gaborik start scoring. We lose 1-0 to the devils and we need a tough guy. And I see you have a lot to say in response to the point about how kovalchuk has no tough guy to "protect" him. KID.

Regardless, he is right. The only thing this team needs is protection from is itself. Chris Neil? Haha, yeah he's going to help. Okay.

Whatever...if it makes you happier being able to call somebody's posts "crap or stupid"...go for it ! I'm not the moderator...I'm sorry if I offended you by labeling you as a kid..............
Kovy has team toughness backing his play...and he is a big boy in case you overlooked that fact .

I wasnt necessarily calling you stupid or your post stupid. I'm calling the idea that we need to get a tough guy stupid because your not the only one who has mentioned this.
And to the second part of your post; We dont have team toughness? C'mon. This team is tough as nails. They battle. They fight. They need someone to score.
Who protects kovalchuk? Looks like he's scoring just fine without a "protector."
Please stop with the stupid we need a tough guy crap.
We need a guy to put the puck in the net.
The last thing this team needs is more team toughness. As for Kovalchuk, he's a freak... Anyways, the rangers need someone who can get into the offensive zone without dumping the puck. They really need to practice rushes, especially passing on the rush.

But Atlanta is like Phoenix in a sense, the exact place he refused to sign with.
