If it wasn't Lundquist the game would have been 7-0.

Good: Lundqvist. As for the forwards, Boyle had some good body checks...that's my say something nice for them.

Bad: I know they only had two of them, but the powerplay.

Redden: DelZotto missing that open net on that laast powerplay.

I've been a supporter of gaborik his entire career. But his effort has been pathetic. He deserves not just to be benched but a healthy scratch. He's floating everywhere. He;s not backchecking hard. He is not getting dirty trying to find a way to score. Just floating around in the offensive zone hoping the play comes to him. When you're struggling you have to battle more. He isnt battling at all. Doesnt even look like he's trying.

Why are people *****ing about the trap? Honestly? This team can't even hit the net or get a puck through traffic.

Yeah blame the trap.

The Devils are not gonna make the playoffs.....even if they continue their torrid pace they will need a ton of help from other teams, plus a lack of 3 point games. Its still a real longshot no matter how much they believe.

Relax, the Devils won't make the playoffs. They're just working their ***** off to get themselves a worse draft pick, which is excellent. Once and then, they play teams that are actually good and then they'll lose. And they can't afford to lose basically anything if they want to make the playoffs. Sadly, we won't make the playoffs either.

Lol at the two people voting for "other." Dagoon voting for Boogaard, which is the other person? A Devils fan?

And don't blame this on the trap. This team isn't better than this, our tactics suck and Tort's lines are a mess. I look at the coach and the GM.

Let's stop the whining about the trap. A win is a win, a loss is a loss. Christensen had an open net in the first and missed. Del Zotto had an open net and missed. Callahan's shot off the post could have easily bounced in.

We made one blatant mistake and gave an opportunity to one of the best goal scorers in the world.

Michelleti and Rosen have been talking about the improved power play since the Atlanta game. Give me a break. Nothing has changed there. They might as well be auditioning some of us posters to run the point on the PP.

Flyers next...I'd say we have a 4% chance of winning that one.

LeMaire is a legend but how could you pay money to watch no attempt at a forecheck and stand in front of the goalie . On Christensens miss in the first did anyone notice White tackle Mcdonagh who had a shot at the rebound. EFF the trap. Staal and girardi look dead on their feet

Hank was almost perfect but I somehow think he almost needs to stop a breakaway like that to be THE ELITE, paid 6 million bucks and a MVP candidate - sorry even I think so. Especially in the situation we are in now - falling like a stone in the race for th POs. This is the clutch we need from Hank. And I am one of Hanks biggest fans.... Just think McD was better 2nite...

POTG: Henrik

Good: Avery and McD. Anisimov with a good effort. Honourable mention to the grand total of 15 shots on net. Yowzer

Bad: the fact that I rarely see three nice passes in a row as players provide some support to each other advancing up the ice. Never mind this idea that NYR needs one individual puck carrier. Try doing it the basic, non-superstar way. Sheesh.

Redden: Tortorella's line shuffling is screwing up this team. And Marc Staal, one of my favourite players. Just not tonight.

I think we possessed the puck for 10 out of 60 min. As weird as it is to say given their records, we are not talented enough to play a high tempo game against the devils.

As much as I was impressed with McD tonight there's no way I can say he had a better game than Hank.

We've never left it.

I still cannot understand why after years and years and years of watching this nonsense, a team just doesn't start bombing away at Devil players heads, hands, and other exposed areas when they dive out to block shots.

If Callahan breaks a hand blocking a shot, why can't someone launch a rocket at Zubrus' wrist?

Kovalchuk's stupid goal celebration and the attitude of that whole Devils team makes me want to see them get crapped on and miss the playoffs even more.

Christensen blows. Get rid of this bum already. wide-open net and shoots it wide.

Prust has been awful the last 10 games. He needs to be scratched.

Gabby is too soft.

Prospal has been brutal. Doesn't seem to be skating well the last 2 - 3 games.

They play too much below the hash-marks. Other teams know this & all they have to do is take away the boards to stifle NYR offense.

Are people seriously saying "relax" at THIS time of year? Every freaking win counts and people say "relax, we won last game!"

I... just. No. I'm embarrassed.

More Redden - Add the fruitless and incessant "dump & chase strategy", the anemic & robotically malfunctioning PP and the constant shifting of lines to no avail. We were outcoached by a better coach with a less impressive roster. Uggghhhh

So, I'm glad you think we'll be fine. I've heard that a lot the past two seasons. Not buying it. Have no reason to.
Of course its concerning. Even moreso in the eyes of die hard fans, but you gotta take it for what it is. Like it or not we had a real strong effort last night, that showed in tonights game, and against a red hot team that has to muster every point it can, to back in to the playoffs. Sure are we on the edge, absolutely, but were sitting prettier than some of the other teams behind us, ahem Thrashers/Sabres. Its a long season, and a hell of a grind.
I will say that I did not have high expectations this season, knowing the young team we would be fielding, and they have already surpassed them for the most part. Technically speaking this was supposed to be a transition year for us. The kids are growing up, and next year more talent will come in, with Kreider (hopefully), Werek etc etc. From where I sit the future is bright.

P.S.
Before someone says it I am not a believer of anything can happen in the playoffs ****. The good teams win, period. Were are nowheres near a contender this year, facts are facts.
