Blues @ Golds Make Crap

Good:
-The game is over
-The Blues executed a perfect road game
-Conklin. Good when called upon. He continues to be a Sabre killer

Bad:
-The entire experience tonight.
-The arena has been quiet this year, but this was the quietest that it has been in recent memory.

Ugly:
-This was the first time that I have ever left a game early. Probably the worst game that I have seen live since before the lockout.
-0 intensity in another game where they can make progress towards that 8th spot
-Players like Vanek, Pominville, and Stafford were pretty much invisible

Our home record speaks volumes; clearly the players are just sick of having to play in Buffalo- and who can blame them? Move the team to Hamilton, that's where most of the fans that come to the arena are from anyway.

Wake the hell up or GTFO Sabres. I don't mind when you lose but make it look like you care.

They were unbelievably out of sync tonight.

I think it's time for some team paintball.

it was a very ugly game from the Sabres. Blues looked amazing tonight, their defense in the dying minutes of the game was impressive.

we looked sloppy and confused for a lot of the game.

Just got home from the game ...

G- besides the tripping penalty which led to the goal, I thought Weber looked good tonight. Gerbe looked good.
B- almost every other Sabre looked slow, tired, uninspired

U- the passing... Oh My God that was like pee wee passing tonight, anyone old enough to remember Mr. Yuk? Throw that sticker on that game!

Good:
- I didn't buy tickets for this game.
- I didn't rush out of work to drive to Buffalo to see the game.
- Gerbe had a good game (as usual)

Bad:
- Two completely flat games in a row.
- Starting to cool down in the home stretch?
- They couldn't even get the garbage, meaningless "well atleast it wasn't a shut-out" goal
- Vanek, Stafford, and Poms all missing the score sheet is not a way to win games.

Ugly:
-PLAYOFFS?! TALKING ABOUt PLAYOFFS?!

The Good:
FREE SABRES TICKETS!!!!
David Backes (#mancrush)

The Bad:
FREE SABRES TICKETS!!!

The Ugly:
I actually sat through the entirety of that stink-fest.
Lindy---That's two in a row where your team failed to show up. I know that, as a professional athlete, there should be some bit of self-motivation, but when it doesn't happen, it falls on the coach. Get your **** together, clown.

The Thank Goodness:
I don't remember a single detail of it. It was that boring.

sarcasm tag noted...

However... ever think Stafford was really turning it on trying to play his way off the team? Got so hot that they want to lock him up long-term.

Ever think Sekera noticed that, and is trying the opposite route out of Buffalo?

Meh. Actually not really THAT upset about it, these games happen.

The Blues played a rock solid road game, slowed down the pace of the game, got the first goal, and after that played a defense-first game and waited for their chances.

Sometimes, the thing doesn't roll your way in games like that and you get frustrated and demoralized.
It happens.

The Toronto loss hurts though.

The problem is how many times they've been scored on first. They've only scored first in 23 of 57 games. They've had to battle back far too often, and when they do score first, they're not very good with the lead (25th in the NHL in pts % when scoring first)

Those two stats in combination are really quite painful to think about.

What I saw of the game live was fairly well summed up in the OP. They didn't look like a team interested in competing...

What the hell happened the last two games? They looked so good right up to Tuesday night's Montreal game. Then...nothing.

I thought I saw Kaleta and Byron in the lineup last night, who was scratched?

Which reminds me, we're 0-3-1 with Kaleta in the lineup since his return. Trade Roy + Kaleta for ... ???

It was the historic last game for Johnson as a Blue game.

They look like they ran out of gas. That's the problem with having to make a charge to get back in the playoff race. So much energy is used to get there that they don't have anything left to finish the job. Times like this are when a team needs a captain that can lead.
