So Microsoft silverlight is freezing my computer.

Why did NBC pick up this game if they are not going to show it? Is anyone outside of western NY seeing it on TV? Also a giant middle finger for the Utica affiliate for showing the Rangers. Because there are so many Rangers fans around here.

it's ok, we've totally shut their PP down and we've got makeup calls coming our way.

NBC's cutaway highlights shows Ovechkin leaving his feet and hitting Weber in the numbers right in front of the ref. But thats all good. Myers hitting someone in the numbers? Penalty

someone on the main forum posted a link to a coverage map last night; I think it's only WNY, D.C., and Northern/Central Virginia who are getting this game.

One could say the NHL is invested in the Capitals being good.

One plus about the period . . . . players like Vanek, Ennis, and Stafford got extended rest.

Watching this one with one of my daughter's male friends who is a Caps fan. He was almost foaming at the mouth after Miller's glove save, so she offered him a napkin. I was so proud of her...

What I don't understand, is that very early in the game Ovechkin crosschecked Butler hard right in the numbers (the ones on the back), and nothing was called. Then Gaustad gets called for that weak crosscheck? As someone else said, I hope there are makeup calls coming, because the Sabres are owed a couple.

As ****** as the refs were, it feels a lot like we out-played them that period. Maybe if they can keep it even in the second we can pot a few.

I was coming in here to post the same thing. In reality, the penalties called against the Sabres were legit, though the 5-on-3 call was a weak call considering the circumstances. My problem was, it was a chippy game being played by both teams, but the Sabres were getting all the calls against them.

Very annoying, but it may have been a blessing in disguise. They may have gained some momentum from killing those penalties.

Alex Ovechkin is the biggest freakin draw in the NHL, except when he is playing Buffalo I guess. Hrm, I wonder which game would be on if the Caps were playing the Penguins?

Now NBC shows another highlight at the end of the period with the Caps almost scoring. You can see the Cap in front of the net clearing holding Miller's arm

But no penalties to see here

That's ridiculous. Again, if you aren't going to have it on for anyone, why pick up the game? Let the local sports networks have it.
