I'm on the fence whether this is a true statement or not.

Brunette isn't exactly an ECHL veteran, having only played about a third of the season in the ECHL. While I do agree that the ECHL is beneficial to developing some players (especially goalies, some enforcers), I'm just not sure he should be used as an example.

Congrats to him on hitting the 1000 game mark though.

The whole developmental/affiliation this is WAY overblown. Yeah this guy played in the ECHL but not even a full season. In another view the number they tell you of guys advancing to the NHL is a joke. They count EVERYONE instead of more legit circumstances like a guy who stayed in the NHL for a full season or a career. A game or a shift shouldn't be mentioned in the same light. Is it nice? Yeah. However in most developmental cases(excluding goalie, that can be such a fickle position) these players are nothing but 3rd and 4th liners in the AHL at best.
