Ok, you're about Price, but not so sure about AK46 and SG. BTW do you think the Habs need to make a move to help them out of their slump?
I think what we need to get out of the slump is NHL defensemen. We have way too many injuries back there and it is starting to show.
Not sure if I'd want us to be buyers at this point. Before the injuries, it made sense to believe in a run if we added 1-2 big key pieces, but as of now we'd need 4-5 of those pieces, which would cost too much. I'd stand still and rely on our youngster and hope for the best...
The Habs players, who didn't have a chance to improve their golf games very much last summer due to their run to the eastern final, held a team meeting after New Years. They've decided that they couldn't afford to let the Leafs embarass them on the green this summer again, so they've decided to be all done with hockey by mid-April, thus enabling them the same amount of time on the green as their rivals.
Seriously though it's starting to get frustrating watching this team right now. There should be drive and determination in their game but there is nothing. Both the Flames & Devils made a management change and have been the 2 hottest teams since.
Calgary: a management change
New Jersey: a coach change
If only we could move Muller up and send Martin to coach the Bulldogs...
There are too many small forwards on the Habs. We cannot win against bigger teams that can skate. We cant adress this issue at the trade deadline and management will have to decide if they want to stay this course in the future.
howcome these types of things never end up being a waste of time for the other team's fans? every ****ing time we've had a game we were excited for or circled on our datebook, the team ALWAYS DELIVERS A ******* CHOKEFEST.
edit: okok, ONCE.......centennial game actually played out like a fairytale.

I have to disagree, last year centenial game was just epic.

I'm beginning to worry about the future more than this year. We will have to retool the D squad. I am in favor of resigning Markov for the right price. But he may not pan out. On the one hand, I think he is the kind of guy who can be valuable until his late 30s because he is an intelligent player, but on the other hand with those recurring major injuries you have to wonder if he isnt a bit fragile from here on out. So I think we need to restack the D with younger guys. If we can (and I know it aint easy to predict things like that) I would love the Habs to find a young Markov.
Come on guys, this is getting old, you guys got to stop ripping the team everytime they get a loss.
38 shots, pucks bouncing all over the place.
I think the the 5 on 3 really took some sails out.
They put in a good effort. They skated got it deep. Just wasn't happening. One glarin problem and has been for awhile. No one in front of the net to screen the shots. We basically gave Kiprusoff every chance to see the puck.
The team was fine, just didn't score. Lack of net presence is what is the problem.
PS for those who said Paul Mara is slow. He didn't look slow at all to me today. Plus something we haven't had in awhile a big body actually pushing guys out of the front of the net.
We could use a big body. Each day going by I think we are standing pat and looking towards next year.
We still have plenty of time or room to work with in the standings. Things will likely mesh by next game or so.
Give the team a break. 38 shots with the way the puck was bouncing, just didn't work.
You are able to be consistent in scoring goals when there's actually more than 1 way to do it. When the beauty goals aren't there, the garbage goals needs to kick in. Driving the net and getting the rebounds. Didn't happen tonight, didn't happen lately.
I don't know what you really you can say about this recent run. We did go on a really nice run until about the all star break, and even after we got points in most games.
Really we are an awful, awful road team. Something is going to have to be done to address that. Someone said earlier that Halpern is a passenger, and they would be right. Actually there are a few in the bottom that are doing absolutely nothing.
I can appreciate their work in the earlier part of the season, but Halpern and Moen and Pyatt have been very unimpressive. Then you have Eller that is having a hard time adjusting, but at least he is trying very hard.
But something has to be addressed about that poor road performance. You cannot have so many small players up front on the road. We have to get some more aggressive size up there and the only way I can see that is by adding a winger or changing one of Gomez or Plekanec with a larger center. Easier said than done.
If only they would send Eller down to build his confidence up a bit. He has it in him to pair well 1-2 with Plekanec, just not now.
Shhh! Don't critize your team or the SMART posters will point out how negative Habs fans are! No no, just sit their and support whatever crap the team spews out onto the ice.
