They don't even need many power forwards, they just need guys who can go into the corners and come out with the puck. You don't need bertuzzi in his prime for that, you just need someone with balls and a good bit of size. Hockey sense helps too.

Been saying it for a while now: we need 1 board battle winning top 6 guy with a bit of toughness, a tough bottom 6 grinder (good on PK would be great too) and we need a robust defenseman that can actually take the puck off of people in the corners.

I hope Ek was right when he said the Habs would be interesting to watch AFTER the Winter Classic game because they weren't very interesting while playing in it..

I hope Eklund is correct in assuming that the Canadiens will be interesting to watch after the classic, because they arent interesting to watch during. That's for sure.

Really we just need our guys to show balls size is secondary in those types of plays. You cand dig the puck out just as easily with skill and speed that you can with brute strength but you need to be willing to take the pain and give it out. Take a guy like jordin tootoo he's great in the corners and he is small same with Marty st. Louis and dozens of other small gritty guys that have come and gone in the NHL. Unfortunately we seem to have a team in short supply in the last few weeks and that is sad

Tenacity only takes you so far though. There are only so many times Gionta can go in the corner with Pronger and come out with the puck. From time to time you need a big dude to do the dirty work.

I don't know if it was on Spectors or TheFourthPeriod, but there was a rumour Dallas was willing to part with James Neal for a young D-man. Maybe a deal from the Habs including Weber ? If they would take Andrei too that would be good. We'd have a good, big , physical (unlike Penner) guy who can score 25 goals. Thoughts .
