I think this team has got it all and the signings are all very reasonable. Convince Andrei Markov to come take Kaberle's spot and get back with his old d-partner Komisarek to hopefully get him going again.

Colborne could be switched for Kadri if Kadri proves to be more ready.

Two solid young goal tenders

This could be a playoff contending team.
dreamer...

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"
You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,
Now there's not a lot I can do

Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer;
So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!
I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"
You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,
Now there's not a lot I can do.

Teams usually aren't so motivated to give up PPG forwards.

It takes a lot for a player like that. Think about how much Tampa wanted for 2nd overall. Bozak wouldn't even be the third best piece in the deal.

why would anybody want Markov, isn't this 2 season ending knee injuries in 2 seasons he's had?

Maybe he is being dealt because he is getting paid 6.6M/year to 2014 and is producing at only 0.79 points per game this year. Avs would get a great return for this guy if he was making 3.0-4.0/year. Those ppg aren't much higher than Stajan's during his last 2 years in TO.

He isn't going to get dealt. His numbers don't tell the true story, go check out the injuries the Avs have had this year. Same argument that is used for Kessel and others failure to put up points. The difference? SoS is much, much better than Kessel. He's at the very least a 70 point, 2 way, legitimate 1st line centre. He isn't going to be traded period, especially when the centrepiece going the other way is Tyler Bozak. It will take an overpayment to get SoS out of Colorado.

Look at the Leafs, then at Colorado. What do the Leafs desperately need? Centre depth. The Avs have that in two 1st line centres, Duchene and SoS. They have no need to trade either, especially with the cap space they have. Why the hell would they?

Why hasn't this been locked or moved yet? It's not even speculation! Some poster thought the Kings/Avs megadeal on the main board, with Statsny involved automatically means Burke is interested. For all we know it is a rumor not involving the Leafs.

For any future trade proposal type threads. use the trade proposal thread stickied up top this page.

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=880831

Can't merge this with that one as this thread is much older.

If you wanna continue the discussion, continue it over there. thanks.

Locked.
