The Flames are a better team simply because we don't have to pay Dion 6.5 million for the next three years, when we're getting almost equivalent defense and superior offense from a guy making 1.4 million (Babchuk)
the other 5 million can be spent on actual talent.
Colorado could use him. With Stewart gone and the uncertanty of Flash, Mueller and Hejduk, the Avs are lacking some offense.
That's what I was thinking, but he has another year left after this one. I think that extra year keeps the Avs (and for that matter, most teams) away from claiming him. I really like him though and with the right system can put up decent numbers. But for 3 mil I'm not sure the Avs can gamble that he'll play well here
Oh great... Please let him be claimed before he reaches the Kings >.<
"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
Lol@ Flames fans trying to make themselves feel better by bringing in other trades. I can do it too, let me try...
Losing Hagman's salary allowed Burke to make a trade to acquire Kris Versteeg, who was then traded for a first and third. Bringing in Aulie and Phaneuf allowed Burke to trade Beauchemin and Kaberle, who brought in Gardiner, a fourth, Colborne and another first. Leafs won the Phaneuf trade because Kaberle was traded for Colborne and a first.
See? I can reach too. Admit it, Calgary made a terrible trade.
