So was the plan to keep Hodgson on the 4th line? He was only sent down because of cap space? I thought it was due to playing higher minutes with the moose.
Not sure if I'm more happy about Hodgson being recalled, or the fact Schroeder slides back to his natural centre position where he belongs on the Moose.

i believe it had to do with the amount of games the moose were playing over the last week and a bit.
One final audition for Hodgson to he can hold down the 4th line center spot before the trade deadline.
I'm not sure that's really it. Our line up is better with Hodgson in it, so assuming the cap related issues fit, we might as well bring him up. Hodgson was only sent down to make room for Salo anyways, now with injuries to many of our dmen we can afford to have him back up and playing again.
To those worried he'll get over 25 games and lose rookie status, I don't think that's a concern. Everyone except Edler will be back before playoffs, and we'll likely have to send Hodgson down for a few games when Alberts slots back in. That's not to say that Hodgson won't be called back up as soon as the playoffs begin, but he'll likely spend the last 2 weeks of the regular season with the Moose.
Hodgson recalled, Oberg back to the Moose. The 4th line will be useful again!
As per Dan Murphy.
Hope this is temporary before we get a veteran 4th line center. This kid lost a whole year in his development. He NEEDS to play 20 mins/game in the AHL... not 7 minutes a game in a limited roll. It's not like he's ripping apart the AHL and looks a step above everyone either.
It seems like Plan A would be to be able to fit in another fourth line centre via trade but Plan B is Hodgson. Having Hodgson as your Plan B is a pretty good thing.
Who cares about rookie status? So what if he's not eligible to get ROTY when he's here for a full season.
Rookie of the Year winners rarely play on cup contenders. They usually have elevated minutes due to lack of depth. This is not the case always so don't jump on me.
I just want Hodgson on the team period. It doesn't matter about personal awards to me. Theres only one trophy people here should be worrying about.

I disagree. I think continuing to bounce between the AHL and NHL this season and next will actually help his development. Hodgson will likely stay up until Alberts is back and go back down for another 3 weeks or so. Then, he may be called up for the playoffs. Hodgson was averaging 9 minutes a game which isn't all that bad. That number will increase too as AV becomes more comfortable with him. Even still though, I imagine Hodgson will spend most of next season in the AHL as well as our top call up.
EDIT - Although I do still agree we should grab a veteran 4th line center, Reasoner would be my choice. This would also give Hodgson the opportunity to bump up to the 3rd line LW spot when playing well, and to bump Torres down.
Pretty much the only option we have short of a trade; the Glass to centre concept is a failure, Bolduc pops his shoulder out taking face-offs, and the organization obviously has limited faith in Bliznak. We have some time here before the official trade deadline so we can see where prices stand for guys like Reasoner, and also evaluate how Hodgson's coming along at the NHL level in the process.
