Huselius was a no show for the season ticket holder event this afternoon. I could understand if he was receiving some sort of treatment for the unspecified injury but it seems suspicious with the trade rumor coming out the night before. Either it was purely cooincidental or something is being covered up.
I heard one of the workers say he was at the hospital with his kids. I would hope they wouldn't make something like that up to hide a trade.
It would make no sense to trade Huselius before resigning Voracek because it significantly weakens the GMs chances of getting Voracek at a discounted rate with his agent being aware that the Jackets would be losing a top 6 winger.
That's understandable if that was the case. Obviously his kids would be more important than the event.
So is his own health, frankly. I appreciate that players do those things, and the guys today seemed to be having fun and good sports about it all. I really don't think anyone would skip out on it without a very good reason.
Methot had a pretty nasty limp, btw.

I heard from folks at the event that his children were ill, as well.
No it's not funny, it's pathetic that kids getting paid 1/5th his salary are outplaying and outhustling him. I'm not referring to him not showing up to a STH event, if his kids are sick he shouldn't be there. They say he's day-to-day with a lower-body injury, maybe he'll miss another 20 games with a sprained ankle.
He does have 12 goals in 35 games. Not that bad. Although it would be nice if he played more and played some type of defense. But he gets paid to score, which he does. Consistently puts up around 25 goals a year.
I assume you are aware of Juice's cap hit, he is overpaid by 1-1.25 million. A somewhat of a bad contract would have to be going back your way. Personally, I would be willing to part with Stajan to bring Huselius back. You can laugh, but he does free up over a million in cap space for your team for a player that has not lived up to expectations and may want out of town.
I think the very most Jacket fans could expect would something along the lines up Hagman and Pelech. And that would be the very most I would part with I were GM of the Flames.
I guess we can have Hagman for free since he's on waivers.
