Phil Kessel, Tim brent, Colton Orr

Chris Tanev, Mason Raymond, 1st 2011, 2nd 2011

Leafs are still in rebuilding mode, and Burke said he was looking for another d-man and Tanev is showing some great potential.

Canucks get there 4th line center and another fighter, while adding kessel in our top 6 to replace raymond, and add more scoring touch. Yes i understand the canucks wouldn't be able to fit these players under our cap, however mike gillis is the albert einstien of hockey, he would be able to figure something out

Value aside there is absolutely no way the Canucks can fit Kessel under the cap.

The last thing the Canucks need to do right now is add a floaty one-dimensional winger. Well probably second last next to adding a 5 minute/game fighter.

Is this to get Leaf fans back for all the Hodgson trades?... or that Kesler plus a 1st for Kaberle?

is this a joke?

I know canucks place unreasonable value on Mason, but this is bordering on hysterical

No from a Vancouver perspective.

I'd much rather keep Tanev, who could legitimately be playing in the top 6 full-time next year.

Keep Raymond. If he gets traded, its in the offseason and it's hopefully for a power-forward.

Rather keep the picks.

Kessel is the best player in the deal but don't want him or his salary in Vancouver. He would not fit well into the culture of the dressing room.

No from Canucks.

Don't need Kessel, and never will.

Impressive. A terrible trade for two teams.

Canucks don't need an offensive scoring winger without a great deal of defensive accumen, or a goon at this point in their season.

While the Leafs certainy could use a player like Raymond and the picks, they certainly don't need them at the expense of their top line winger who happens to be struggling somewhat.

Gross.

I actually think its because of the value the op assigned to Tanev.

A lot o f Canucks fans (myself included) now value Taven as if he is a top 10-15 draft pick.

That being said, I can understand why nobody else would...just give him time.

Everybody loses!!

Personally, I think Toronto would end upwinning this trade a few years down the road though.

Chicago doesn't need Hossa, never will!

But Burke's ego will get into trading Kessel, even the value is fair and in this case Van needs to add a little bit more.

Pffft. Many Canucks fans don't like the way Mason plays or chooses to play. I don't think there would be "unreasonable value" placed on him.

Any proposal involving Phil Kessel leaving without another legitimate first line forward coming back is a non-starter.

No thanks, why does the best team in the league need to make a blockbuster trade?

Kessel wouldn't fit into the cap structure that the canucks have established. There is more that goes into a trade than just value for value. There are always cap considerations to every trade so even a deal like this isn't neccessarlily a slam dunk.

Because Philidelphia needs a goalie?
