Are Ryan Getzlaf and Anze Kopitar being discussed in the same trade anywhere in this world? That's just absurd. Absolute nonsense. My, oh my what would possess such a thought? Kings dealing with Anaheim? Vice versa? Nah-uh.

I think Richards falls in the same category of team need as Stastny. He would be a nice addition, but too costly, and I don't think Richards has any interest in re-signing in LA.

Richards will be the cash cow of July. That's got to be a great feeling knowing you can pick and choose where you want to play and how many millions of dollars you're going to get. My money is still on Richards signing with the Rangers and re-uniting with Torts. If I'm Richards and I look at the Kings roster the first thing I see is Kopitar with a 1C next to his name. Then I cross off the Kings and look everywhere else.

Apprently in the real NHL, you couldn't.

All's I know is, if I were Nieuwendyk, I'd be looking for Letang with a package of Neal + Niskanen. Niskanen's fallen off a bit but he had 35 points a couple years ago. Goligosk's career high is 37.

I'm not saying your right or wrong on this, but why this be? This should more or less be Richards last contract so in theory "getting his numbers" wouldn't be as important as it would to a 25 year old.

If he signs with the Rangers, I guess he will be scratching the Stanley Cup off his list as well.

Some may say that Kopitar is better suited at this point in his career as a 2nd line center while he continues to mature, learn to deal with pressure and we need a legitimate 1st line veteran center there...some may say that.

Exactly. It's hard to believe that Pittsburgh offered the best deal.

Dallas probably could have had Eric Johnson if they made it clear that Neal was available.

This just seems like the Thornton to SJ trade that no one knew about other than the two involved teams until after it was announced.

No shame in that. Peter Forsberg was the second line center the entire time he spent with the Avs (the recent farewell abortion notwithstanding).

Tim Connolly has been with the Buffalo Sabres longer than any other player on the roster, coming from the New York Islanders in 2001 for Michael Peca. But this could be Connolly’s final week with the team.

The center is in the final year of the controversial two-year, $9 million extension he signed at the trade deadline in 2009. He’s an unrestricted free agent after the season and could be the kind of third-line center and special teams player that a club like Pittsburgh, Washington or Los Angeles might be interested in as the NHL trade deadline looms next Monday.

It’s unfathomable that the Sabres would re-sign Connolly again for next season. And many observers think it would be hard to believe he even lasts the week here.

Connolly...interesting. A third line center we don't need. Sure, why not

Connolly for next to nothing might not be a bad deal.

He might give a boost to the PP by adding some speed and creativity. I know you think it is all the fault of the system, but I'm pretty confident that Kopitar is not under orders to keep his ass glued to the half wall on the PP.

I really don't think so, but I could be wrong.

We already have like four 3rd line centers.

Stoll, Zeus, Lotionov (has the skill to be a 2nd) and Lewis.

I say no.

We would probably be better to just do nothing if we can't significantly upgrade our top six before the deadline. Maybe Dallas will trade away Richards, Hiller will never return, and the rest of the teams in the West will sabotage themselves.

I have a copy of the orders signed by Murray. Yes, he is.

My opinion is that TC wouldn't do anything for us that we don't already have. I have watched him play over the years and have developed the opinion that he isn't any better than Stoll and my opinion is that Stoll is even better than TC at allot of things so I wouldn't go after him.

In my opinion.

So I wonder what Lombardi is doing while everyone is making trades?

Dean: Hey Tambo, can we have Hemsky yet?

Tambo: Schenn?

Dean: No

Tambo: Then no

Dean: What about Penner?

Tambo: Schenn?

Dean: No

Tambo: Then No.

I wonder if DL then laughs and hangs up the phone and spends the afternoon knowing that he has done the right thing and that Tambo might actually have lost grip of his own facilities.

Just wondering.

I read somewhere, that the Oilers are asking for Schenn, Carlson from Was and Johanson from the Jackets. They are defiantly demanding alot.
