Wait until the offseason (shouldn't matter either way for the Avs, right?)

Caps need to know where they'll stand wrt Varlamov's extension, plus will have to factor in playoff performance of whichever one gets some time in (if not both).

Could easily see them dealing with the goaltending logjam this summer, especially since they've got another prospect that should be turning pro (Grubauer).

As to the value, beats me. Goalies are always tough to judge. He's got 2 more years at a pretty cheap deal (at least cheap if you're thinking of him as a quasi-starter).

I wouldn't trade much for a goalie prospect, they're just not worth it because the risk is too high. Also don't see Washington trading away a goalie midseason, they need to make a long run this year. You don't want to risk Varlamov goind down and going to Holt.

Sorry. name correction.

None of the 3 young goalies is going to be traded except for an overpayment(not likely) or as part of a bigger package(still not likely) until one of them steps up to claim the #1 spot in both their play and health.

If Neuvirth isn't available, maybe the Avs would be interested in Ramo.

you forgot the sarcastic smiley.

Extortion material good enough to make this trade happen doesn't exist.

Hopefully they find a loophole to trade him in the middle of this Pens/Caps game. The Pens just can't seem to score on the guy this season.

Blame Bylsma on 24/7. Neuvirth admitted that he's used that as motivation.

Yeah, I didn't think it was a good idea for Bylsma to say that. He should have put it differently knowing the cameras were on. Probably should have told them to keep shooting and testing the young goalie. Saying he wasn't any good was taking it too far. Pens offense would make any goalie look like Patrick Roy right now though.

I thought it was pretty tame, figure guys say stuff like that all the time, but if you're a young goalie trying to make an impact in this league you're going to take anything you can and use it. Cost of doing business on camera, I suppose.

Yeah, I just don't like giving the other team motivation or bulletin board material etc. Neuvirth gets the shutout. I believe his 2nd straight against the Pens.
