Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #62 @ Carolina Hurricanes

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Vaclav Prospal and Wojtek Wolski, with 1 wraparound attempt against Carolina.

That was awesome. I know I said I was done, but I still watching. I just needed to be alone, I was in that mood again.

POTG: I know I hate ties, but I gotta do it; Lundqvist and Wolski split one. No shootout for them either.

The Good: We won

The Bad: **** it, we won.

The Gilroy: Matt Gilroy

POTG: Sauer/Wolski

The Good: Del Zotto, great play most of the game, Wolski, PP

The Bad: The PK wasn't especially good tonight in my opinion, but it got the job done.

The Redden: I'm not going to sit here and complain about concussions, but seriously, for many of you guys... you act like it's the end of the world, and reading your whining is HILARIOUS... I swear if your girlfriends dumped you, you'd probably all shoot yourselves in the face. And seriously, some of you need to lay off Del Zotto's balls, he had a decent game, but because of a few wide shots you want his head.... it's getting old, move on you losers. /ENDRANT!

POTG - Wolski

The Good - Zucc-Stepan-Wolski line, Girardi, Hank, Callahan
The Bad - EC, Del Zotto's missed net, Staal getting hurt (pray it is not a concussion), Sauer's turnover that led to the 3rd goal
The Redden - Gilroy, he was a man possessed tonight, possessed to make bad decisions at bad times

Everyone should pray for Marc Staal tonight, I will and I don't even believe in God.

best game wolski has had since he joined the rangers. It's not even just because of the GTG and the GW shootout goal. He controlled the play every time he was on the ice. He was patient with the puck and held onto it longer instead of panicking and just dishing it into a corner. Unbelievable game by him. He was so visible. Wish he played like that every night.

The good: wolski-zucarello-stepan line
The bad: staals injury
The redden: DelZotto and Gilroy.

We seriously need two new defenseman. MDZ gave up soo many oppurtunities in OT that could have cost us the game.

Wolski was easily the player of the game even if he didn't get that SO goal or tying goal. Looked involved all night, creating chances, getting shots off. He was a force to be reckoned with, good to see he got rewarded for his effort.

POTG: Zuccarello, he created opportunities almost everytime he was on the ice. His best game in a long while.

Good: Wolski, Stepan, Callahan, Sauer

Good game by the Rangers and a great hockeygame.

Sorry man but Sauer was at fault for the 3rd goal, I love his play this year but he is getting too much time and they need to get some help on the blueline.

PoTG : Wolski, although Lundqvist also had a monster game in my opinion.

The Good : Team effort in never giving up. PP also looked like a PP.
The Bad : Defensive errors.
The Redden : again, defensive errors..
