We seriously need two new defenseman. MDZ gave up soo many oppurtunities in OT that could have cost us the game.
Del Zotto had a good game, the goals will come, he's getting his confidence back... lay it to rest already.

good: the win
bad: not in regulation
redden: if staal is out, kiss playoffs goodbye

Rangers have to start winning in regulation, it's embarrassing

No shootouts in the playoffs, and this win means nothing if they don't do it again, and again

POTG: Wolski baby with the snipe to win out in the shootout
Good: Our powerplay actually looked somewhat decent (it's a start!)
Bad: Way to many odd-man rushes by carolina/breakaways
Redden: Gilroy, the guy is horrid

An honorable mention to Sam, because he almost blew it, but at the end of the day, we're still 21-0. Cheers Sam

Player Of The Game = Woltek Wolski (took control of the game, dominated posession of the puck, made a handful of great passes, scores the game tying goal and SO winner).

Honorable Mention = Henrik Lundqvist (made a ton of high quality saves to keep his team in the game).

The Good = Resilient effort and execution when it mattered.

The Bad = Coughing up a 2-1 lead in the 3rd period, Gilroy's play and Staal getting hurt.

The Redden = Fans still criticizing Henrik when he plays a good game.

POTG - Wolski (game breaker tonight).

Good - Prospal (oh man did he want a goal), Lundqvist (incredibly difficult game for him), Zuccarello, Stepan.

Bad - Del Zotto can't hit the inside of a barn while standing in it, but he can't be that singled out, because no one can. Not even you, Anisimov.

The Redden - Matt frigging Gilroy, who still plays ahead of Steve Eminger. Why Torts, WHY?!

POTG's : Wolski and Hank. Thanks Hank for keeping the team in the game even though the team gave up like 6 breakaways. And you had to stop skilled players like Staal and skinner while Ward is stopping our grinders. But no Ward outplayed him.

And obviously huge game from W2.

Bad: Sooo many defensive mistakes.

POTG- Hank or W2

The good: A ****ing comeback. The team showed desire again and I loved it. Every single one of you knows we'll say "**** this team" but deep down inside it kills us to watch them struggle like they have been, and it's huge to have them come back like this.

the bad: Gilroy.

The redden: Staal's possible concussion, Gilroy.

PotG: Wolski
The good: Hank, Prospal, lots of little things
The bad: Not in regulation, Sauer was pretty off tonight I thought.
The Gilroy: Redden

Hank was an absolute monster tonight and he really kept the Rangers in it there.

Silence the haters

The Good: Wolski
The Bad: Gilroy

MDZ had a stronger game, he was left to dry on numerous occasions by Gilroy and he made one amazing play on a 2-1 to break up the play with a diving stick check. He missed to great scoring chances, one open net, both missed wide. he had a dangerous defensive zone play in the 3rd where he got beat because he was standing flat footed. he has looked better defensively, but playing with gilroy isn't helping to mask his flaws. They need to be split up and we need a quality 5-6 d-man

Wolski was POTG hands down IMO. Everytime he had the puck he was looking to make a quick move.....very Gaborik esque tonight

I know Wolski tied it and won it, but I think Stepan was better than him most of the night, really. Really hoping that he's starting to take that next step here.

Amazing that he hasn't really seemed to hit a wall as the season has dragged on (like the rest of our team has).

The Good

Wolski, Stepan, Callahan, MZA.

Sauer and McDonagh I thought struggled at times for a lot of the night with the speed of Carolina, BUT, the entire defense really stepped up towards the end of the 3rd and OT without Staal and played pretty well. They gave up some really awful chances but they got the job done.

The Bad
Gilroy. Enough said he needs to sit

The Redden
Staal potentially being hurt kills us, absolutely. Despite what I mentioned above, you could tell we really missed his calming influence back there. Girardi is a good Dman, but he's not the presence that Staal is.

He was raised in Canada from a pretty early age, hence no accent.

Awards:
Media Savvy Lee, please explain to me what makes Luongo elite but not Lundqvist.

I'd also like to know why Fleury is elite, but not Lundqvist. His career numbers don't even begin to approach Lundqvist's, while he has played for a vastly superior franchise. He has a Cup but no Vezina. From this I can also conclude that JS Giguere and Nikolai Khabibulin are elite, correct?

I found it very funny and pathetic how MDZ got beat 2 or 3 times by the same exact move from cole. Honestly, wtf? You don't know he has insane speed and can beat you?
