Controversy!

TSN post game, Carey Price says the team won the game for him, but then Gionta says it wasn't for him!

Such a fun game to be at even if the good guys lost! It was great to see all the bantering back and forth between the Habs Fans and Canucks Fans at the arena and then on the SkyTrain home It was all very good natured and pretty funny. I was very impressed by the Habs fans tonight - it was almost like a playoff atmosphere! I really hope the Canucks and Habs do meet in the playoffs. I'll be rooting for the Habs for any rounds that don't involve Vancouver!

I'm sure Gary Buttman would love an all-Canadian matchup in the SCF.

After being all proud of our boys taking out the league's #1 team, I did a little digging into Van City's 14 regulation losses (fewest in the league). The results were interesting, as there were only 10 different teams they'd lost to for those 14 regulation losses.

MTL - 2 (1 by shutout)
MIN - 2 (1 by shutout)
STL - 2
ANA - 2
NYR - 1 (shutout)
NAS - 1
PHX - 1
CHI - 1
PIT - 1
LAK - 1

4 out of 10 teams they've lost to, they've lost to more than once. Montreal and Minny both doing well enough to shut them out on one of those occasions.

It's just funny how certain teams just don't match up well against certain other teams during the course of a season. Of course, they play Minny a lot more than us, so that makes me extra proud for us to have swept them.

But whatever, good game tonight despite Martin's coaching imo.
Here's a hypothetical situation that I'm wondering what your take is:

Let's say AKost's career plays out to be 15 years long. He bounces around between few teams and puts up solid, but unremarkable numbers (for comparison sake, let's say something similar to Jozef Stumpel's career).

Would you see this as a letdown for AKost based on what we've seen from him so far?

This isn't a trick or anything, I just see you commenting on AKost quite frequently and I'm trying to figure out where you're coming from with regards to what your expectations of him are.

Price, Subban, Pacioretty, Eller, Weber, Desharnais, White.....

That's some really nice young players to build around.

Typical Habs game of the last 20 years.

Step 1: Be very opportunistic
Step 2: Get outplayed badly
Step 3: Hope your goalie stands on his head.

My favorite post game quote is a reporter telling Gill it was the first win in Vancouver in over 10 years and Gill responding "What are you talking about, I've won here before" lol

I am going to say this again, because frankly I am still amazed to see it. When we drafted Subban there were doubts he would ever make a good NHL defenseman because he supposedly was a "defensive liability".

Well don't look now, but the Montreal Canadiens' shutdown defenseman is PK Subban. He played the most minutes on the penalty kill last night, almost 7mins out of 9:50 we were shothanded and drew the assignment against the Sedins. The kid plays 27-30 minutes night in and night out against the opposition top offensive line. Defensive Liability my ass. And to think he is only 21.

Eller was fantastic last night, please keep him at his position. He is far more dominant at center than Halpern. Was good to see his chemistry with AK.

Very nice game by the Habs. They didn't fold up after losing a couple of two goal leads. I just wonder what it's going to take for this team to be more disciplined though. The Habs outplayed the Canucks early and then the penalties started but hey, they won.

I could be wrong but without looking I don't believe the Canucks were able to score on the Habs at even strength this year. Spacek and Hamrlik shut down the Sedin's first go round and last night it was Gill and Subban. Great work gentlemen and to Carey Price also.

Glad I'm not the only one who saw it this way. Habs played very well in the 1st. After that, they got outplayed and basically had to hang on to another 1 goal lead for the rest of the game, hoping and praying Price would save them.

I know the team won and I'm happy about that, but it's always the same story.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Price is the perfect example of how adversity can be a great teacher for a young player. I'm sure last night's win is even sweeter for him given how disappointing that first game was for him.
