I think the Habs and the Predators are the most likely team to put in a claim for him. He might do well in Montreal. They guy has amazing skills.

Avs could grab Zherdev to allow them cap room to stay above the floor with another move and give them a skill forward... Free add, so worth the tryout IMO.

....Kotalik on re-entry makes no freaking sense to me. If he gets claimed, the Flames get stuck with 1.5 million on next years cap. If he doesn't get claimed...the Flames have Ales freaking Kotalik.

I've never seen such a lose-lose situation.

1.5 for Kotalik might get him claimed.

I could see the Isles taking gambles on Zherdev or/and Rivet.

Zherdev on waivers is just ridiculous. You can't tell me there was no one out there willing to offer for him. Regardless of any personal or character issues, he is too talented to be on waivers. Mind boggling. No way he clears.

Zherdev would be a good pick up.

I'd even take a shot at Kotalik at half his salary.

Nah he just looks down the salary column and looks at who's making league minimum. Wanger is too cheap otherwise.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, this puts Buffalo at 49 contracts, a trade coming?

pretty crazy stuff! there are a lot of teams that could use one or two of these guys on their third line. not saying any of these forwards are really geared towards the third line, but if you want to bring in someone that can add some balance scoring wise, Zherdev would be it for me. I cant believe Zherdev couldnt get anything in return??? wow.

Philly screwed up big time. Should have kept Zherdev as injury insurance. Now he proabably gets picked up and if it's the East, he may come back to haunt you in the playoffs. A guy of his skill with a chip on his shoulder is dangerous.

Zherdev to Montreal? Send Eller to Hamilton and make him a top two centre to develop.

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gionta
Cammalleri - Gomez - Zherdev
Pouliot - Desharnais - Kostitsyn
Darche - Halpern - Moen

Hamrlik - Wisniewski
Gill - Subban
Mara - Weber

Price
Auld

Zherdev would be a good acquisition for the Canucks. I'd rather have him than Tambellini or even Raymond at this point.
