JR just loves the taste of his foot

Roenick also shared his opinion on Friday's Draft Lottery and the NHL future of Sidney Crosby.

"I say throw the balls away the Rangers haven't made the playoffs in seven years...You have the most acclaimed kid coming into hockey since Mario Lemieux, don't make a big mistake with this kid," Roenick told OTR. "Put him in the biggest market - the biggest media market - especially to a team that has to make the playoffs or they'll lose all their fans and let Sidney Crosby come to the game and make it better because everyone is going to see him in New York."
I love JR the player. But JR the person needs to shut the hell up sometimes.

As much as I despise the Rangers, I don't necessarily disagree with Roenick.

Sure Crosby in Columbus or Crosby in Carolina would put those markets on the proverbial map in the NHL world where we currently often fall into the "you're not in a real market" stereotype. But Crosby in NY, LA, Chicago, or even Philadelphia, there would be more "hype" exposure available and it could elevate the NHL on the "sports map" moreso than if he falls to a smaller city with a smaller television market and a smaller sports presence.

I hate this idea of seeing Sid The Kid with the Rags but from an economic point of view, it would be a great news for the american market...

but I hope the Rags won't have him!

He's right in the sense that if he is really as good as he is supposed to be, the NHL would benifit with having him in the largest market possible.

It doesnt have to be New York, as any of the larget markets would be good for the NHL, including here in Philadelphia.

I just don't want him to go there because it's the Rangers, but of course I don't like them.

I agree - he's so entertaining!

He did confirm one thing though... he's playing wing this year!

I think he is doing this because now the NHL has to make sure the Rangers don't get him or else it will REALLY looked fixed

I agree with what he says, even if I don't necessarily like it. If Crosby does go to a team I don't like though, I hope it is the Rangers.

The Rangers wouldn't care so much if he went to the Kings. (Actually it'd be better for ALL the Eastern teams if the kid went there.)

Worst for the Rangers would be Crosby on the Devils.
Then Crosby at the Nassau Coliseum.
