Sure he was great yesterday, when his dad was there watching him. In St Louis, which is like his home town. Let's see if he can do it 2 games in a row. I don't see it.

Is that enough?

If we win tonight, we better go on a 10 game winning streak and get to the playoffs. Don't want to waste a top 10 pick.

Screw the losing.

Win some games and get some chemistry going so guys have something to look forward to next season and the UFA market does not completely ignore the Avs if we go that route.

If the Avs end up with the 7-8-9 pick as a result, so be it. If the Blues pick is in that 10-15 range... if there really is a top end guy that the Avs want that won't fall that far, I would expect a few teams could be convinced to take those two picks and move down. (maybe with the Avs throwing in another mid tier prospect)

And while it is a heeeellll of a long shot... the playoffs are not completely closed off from for the Avs... IF, and it is a big if, the Avs win the games against the Oilers, Kings, and Ducks leading up to the deadline in regulation, I would go out on a bit of a limb and say they would only be 7-8 points out of the playoffs. (I think they are 11 out now) Still a long ways to go, but odds are a few teams above the Avs could pack it in and move assets for futures. While the Avs may not be done moving stuff, losing Hunwick, Cumiskey, Porter, ext won't exactly gut the team... and as much as we have read speculation that the Avs are not done, I think the major changes are done. (unless they move Liles, which I don't think is a given)

8 points back is nothing.... and a huge gap to close at the same time. Avs win 3 in a row here, string together a few more 3 game winning streaks...and in the final week or two of the season you are a team 4 points out with 4 games to go.

A TON has to go right to make it happen... but it is not over yet... and the team can't play any worse than it was/is.

In all fairness, the Avalanche are only 9 points out of a playoff spot currently and they play the Oilers what, 4 times more? Leaving us 1 point out. Oh and throw in St. Louis and Columbus a couple more times and who knows. Might get an extra 4-7 games in before golfing season begins.

losing sucks. so do the oil. Thus, we will probably lose to them. That's the way we work.

Why is Sacco hesitant to play McClement and O'Reilly on the same line? They can both take face offs. Dupuis is fine as a 4th line center.

Because Dupuis sucks at FO. I don't blame him.

He gets a 48 save shutout, 3 saves in a shootout. And make Sherman look like a god.

They have a good game to build off of against an opponent behind them in the standings. As someone else mentioned, they'll see Edmonton many more times and it will be POST-deadline, meaning Edmonton will have a weaker lineup.

I'd rather they not aim for the draft picks and instead try to find their best game from here on out, no matter what. With cap space and smart moves they can re-tool this summer and be very competitive next season. But no UFA like Vokoun or Brizgalov is going to want to join a team they think is seasons away from being competitive.

You really think Vokoun thought the Panthers were going to be world beaters before he signed there? Pretty sure money/job security (i.e. multi-year contract, NTC/NMC) is a lot bigger motivator than you think.

For the poll, Hishon hasn't been a bust LONG ENOUGH to win it.

I voted for Grimey.

The hold up with Elliott, wasn't his VISA as they were letting on, he was just getting a new mask made that has the specific details of the contract Anderson turned down painted on it.

I would be fine with Elliott getting a few wins this year.

Just dont want to go into the offseason thinking that Elliott/Budgina tandum will be good enough.

Of those choices I'm gonna say Nedorost. At least Johansson helped get us Kono.

Go Avs, screw the tank.

You realize we tend to be awful against the Oilers right?

Just one of those teams we match up badly against.

But yes, screw the tanking. I wanna see the team win some games, build some chemistry, and give us something to look forward to next season for.

Colorado 7 - Edmonton 0

Johnson with 1 g 4 a and all the naysayers suspiciously go quiet.

Stastny with a 2 g 2 a night and his value goes even higher, resulting in 5 new Stastny to: threads every time you hit F5 in the trade section.

Elliot with 48 saves to show up Anderson.

Liles with 3 a night and his value doesn't change, but he gets traded to Toronto before midnight is up.

Hunwick with a mind boggling +5 on the night.

Book it.

This is surprising. This season paul is 3rd line the league in FO taken and 3rd in the league in FO wins (ahead of the two people that have taken more FO's than he has too!) and is at a 53.1%. He's improved this season on FO.

The Oilers have been playing very well of late and the Avs suck at the Can. Oilers 4-1
