He's having a career year with 22 goals already (Atlanta). IIRC, he brings some grit, too. "Cap Geek" lists him as a LW, but I'm not sure if that's where he's been playing this year. http://www.capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=7

What would you give up to get him? Besides Schenn, what would it take?
I'd be interested in him. Pedigree is a good thing to have, it is one of those few things that still turn a player around mid-way throughout his career. Like always though, it depends on the price. He is a RFA and is not a rental, and Atlanta is fighting for a playoff spot.

Isn't Dudley the GM in Atlanta? If so then Ladd is getting up there in age and it's about time to trade him for draft picks...

The Ducks must think that Hiller will be out for awhile. They just traded McBackup for Dan Ellis. Lightning clears $1.5million in salary next year, and the Ducks get a better goalie for the time being and a backup next year for Hiller.

Damn. Ducks are active, and this move will help them.

Really? Dan Ellis will help them? TB put him on waivers a few weeks ago and he went unclaimed. He hasn't been the same since having a concussion a year or two ago. Ellis will NOT help them.

Do not mistake activity for progress. None of the move the Ducks have made have or will help them.

Not that Ellis has been any better, but I believe Mike Smith was on waivers, not Ellis. He's the one that was sent to the minors.

Confermed by Jason Gregor from the team 1260. L.A. is going hard after Hemsky but the Oil haven't budged they want Schenn. This is turning into a great game of chicken. Do you think D.L. would ask Smyth about what type of player Hemmer is? And what he can do to help L.A.

if so, i'm fairly certain all the appropriate questions about Hemsky were asked to Smyth, Stoll AND Greene a while ago.

The Oilers are not getting Schenn. No way, no how. Lombardi isn't going to move one of his premier assets for a one year contract. If Tambellini wants to play a game of chicken with Lombardi and is holding out for Schenn, he'd be better off not wasting his time because he's not going to get him.

The Kings aren't going to budge. All the Oilers need to do is look at Dean's history... Hemsky tops my list of players available, but the Oilers are going to have to settle for a reasonable package, or just get his rental price next season, because the Kings will never give them Schenn.

Smyth and Hemsky will always have something going on the ice. Smyth finds that open ice 3 feet from the net and Hemsky has a knack of getting the puck there.

A Smyth-Stoll-Hemsky line would be interesting.

Funny thing is it's not Tambi that keeps phoning L.A. and asking for Schenn it's L.A. that keeps phoning and asking for Hemsky, it's been the same response from edmonton since the first call. Don't phone back unless Schenn is involved, but he keeps phoning, so it's not Tambi wasting his time it's D.L.

And how would you know this? Are you hiding under Tambellini's office table? Or inside the vents?

Cool bro. How does one become privy to those phone calls?

Totally agree. I wasn't comparing Ellis and McBackup, but Ellis and Mike Smith. If the Kings would have gotten more shots on McBackup last night and not shot wide, they would have had a ton more goals. His rebound control and angles were TERRIBLE last night.

Oh I don't know, Canadian media Dreger, a local guy that has fantastic sorces in L.A. and has his own radio show up here and has Helen on all the time plua he doesn't report crap never has no rumours or anything. He has stated Kings pushing very hard for Hemsky, what does that tell he made 1 call or would you be reasonable and think (pusking hard for Hemsky) means multiple calls. I'm just posting what's been reported up here I still agree with you guys. Here is a thought would you guys have traded Kopitar for Eberle last year straight up? Hemsky is our Kopitar and Eberle is your Schenn would you guys have done that deal not knowing what Eberle could bring in the NHL.

Totally agree again.

Doughty alone missed two goals last night on wide shots

I saw someone bring up Steve Bernier's name earlier in this thread. Well, he's on waivers today. Zherdev and Rivet cleared, Svatos claimed by Ottawa.

Steve Bernier was put on waivers? That's sort of shocking. I'm also surprised Zherdev cleared lol and that Svatos was claimed by the Sens? Why would they do that lol.. Maybe they're about to trade one of their wingers for a pick and a prospect *cough* Milan Michalek *cough*
