I thought their finishing was a big piece of pooh. However, we had some good looks- Doughty missing from the slot, Simmer and Westy had semi breakaways, Willy & Stoll with a 2 on 1. I would say most of those are attributable to turnovers by the Ucks. We are always lacking creativity, but you can't say we didn't have grade A scoring chances.

Against a goalie that gave up 16 goals in 3 games?

The Kings could only muster 18 shots against the Ducks! They average giving up 33.1 shots per game (27th in the NHL).

The Kings offense is still sub-par for NHL playoff teams. They have the horses to be at least average, but their coach likes "heavy" board play over creativity.

Williams was the only forward willing to carry the puck into the zone and it created 2 goals.

Its just so obvious to me that when we make the effort to get the puck in to the offensive with possession we get far better opportunities than when we dump it in.

Is that so hard for the Murray-lovers to see here?

Murray "lovers" are not against carrying the puck into the zone.

The pro/anti rhetoric around here (in jest or otherwise) is ridiculous and it needs to stop.

Those were "Kirstie Alley' win last night. (I.e. Beer goggle goals). You don't feel as good with an ugly win like that where you were outshot and out chanced and squeezed a few by a goalie with an .890 save % and a 3.43 GAA, than you would if you squeezed three past Patrick Roy in his prime.

Actually, I think the only reason we dump it in so much, is that nobody outside of Kopitar has the skill to skate the puck in the ozone consistently. He dumps it in only when its a last resort.

Loki was able to carry the puck in just like kopitar at times which demonstrated his skill.

In my opinion, the limiting factor in the offense is TMs F3 playing too high, which basically is playing it safe. The F3 cant jump in the play quick enough to open up holes or get anything going unless the D makes an major brainfart. I wouldnt be surprised if thats why Loki was demoted...he started sagging down in the offensive zone, which did open up some scoring chances..but put him out of position on the D side of things.

I just hope at one point TM lets certain players play with creativity..it just looks like our offense is 5 robots out there playing rockemsockem board hockey. Just my 2 cents.
