^ Makes perfect sense.

Now, maybe they could follow the same formula with the 4th line - we don't want them to go more than 10 games without a shift

Also sounds like we'll be seeing lots of Schneider until the playoffs:

Rick Bowness on Schneider: We don't want him to go more than 10 days between starts. He'll get one of the back to backs in Cali

I hope Bowness actually said Cali.
Meh, we have 21 games left in just under 50 days. Sounds like it'll be similar to what we've seen so far. Even though Gilis had said Schneider will get 25 starts this season, so we'll see!

After tonight he'll be at 18.

5 - 7 more in 21 games wouldn't be all that shocking. Plus, Bow said he'll be playing one of the upcoming back to backs so that's 19 games with 20 left.

He'll be at 16 after tonight. 2 separate times he came in for a struggling Luongo but didn't start.

And while I agree that 5-7 more starts in the next 20 games wouldn't be shocking, to get the 25 starts mentioned by Gilis he'd need to start 9 of those next 20 games, which all in all, I don't have a problem with as he's played great this season.

I am sensing run+gun tonight. Tons of scoring chances. Look for the Canucks to get 5, 6, or perhaps even more goals.

haha. good call.

although at many times this year, most of us would've been pretty content not to see some of those 4th line 'experiments' for 10 games at a time.

I think that would be 18 appearances. His record is 10-3-2, so he has only had 15 starts this season.

Remember, he had a couple of relief appearances against the Wild in the 1st game in Minny, and the Chicago home blow out.

I'm looking at starts vs. appearances.

I'm wondering if AV will play Cory against his home town team the Bruins on Saturday. Lets Lu play against the Habs all of the time, so wonder if he would do the same for Cory. Cory would likely get 2 starts during this home stand, but, AV doesn't like to see Lu sit more than 3 or 4 days between starts.

I can see him working out a way if the game was in Boston, in front of family and friends, but since the game is here, I don't think he'll be starting two games in a row.

Does anybody know the number of games Schneider has to play for Vancouver to retain him as a RFA? I think it was 21, but not sure and don't know where to look.

that was only if his contract expired this summer. he signed a two year deal, so not something we have to worry about any more.

i'm actually glad that erik johnson isn't playing. He seems to play quite well defensively against us because of his skating ability.

Really hate the idea of EJ on colorado.

Despite the Blues' luck against Vancouver, I have a really good feeling about this one. 5-2 good guys. Goals by D. Sedin (2), Burrows, Kes, and Salo.

Halak is out, and I'm sure the Canucks feel the extra pressure to show up tonight- because the Blues have had their way with them this year, and because of the no-show in the first period on Tuesday.
