I know Gagne has terrible stats this year, but for some reason I've always thought he was a real good player. Great in the playoffs last year too. Probably wouldn't take much to get him either.

But why would Tampa trade him? They want to do well in the playoffs too, so they aren't going to send him our way for a draft pick, unless for some reason they need to clear cap space for a larger deal, which seems unlikely.
Malone, there was said to be a time this past offseason where DL and the Bolts were talking about a potential deal where Malone was involved but it didn't go down for whatever reason and what I recall is that DL took a pass.
I like Malone and would be willing to give up a little to get him but can't see the Bolts moving him at this point, why would they.
Other than that unless we are looking at kids or picks coming to us for Davis and or Harrold or one other semi ancillary player I would be surprised if we really had any reason or need to deal with the Bolts but that's just my opinion.
Assuming it's someone from LA, I'd assume a D-man? Tampa had to sign Bergeron and have been using that fortress known as Randy Jones all year. They did get Brewer, but maybe they need someone else?
If so, how about Greene for Malone, with a pick/prospect to even it out as needed.
if DL moves any of the existing D my guess is it's going to be Greene. in his prime at 27, signed thru 13/14, classic stay at home guy teams look for this time of year, leader....to many intangibles. this may be Lombardi gamble for a forward since he has the D depth, even if much of it is young and unproven.
if it isnt Greene then. AMart is the only other realistic option, a young PMD that has showed good to very good results in his first season.
Harrold would be a throw in to spice a deal. wiske i just can't see generating any interest. the remaining D isnt going anywhere DD, JJ, willie or scuds.

I can't see Greene being moved at all. There is no one in the pipeline available to step in and shut down opposing teams top lines.
I wouldn't be shocked if Lombardi/Murray weren't showcasing Drewiske with only games to go before the deadline. He won't be the center of any big deal, but he is a reliable bottom pairing defensemen for a ton of teams who don't have a lot of defense depth.
That is a lot of scouts. Wow. From TB I'd think about Malone but I personally don't think he'd be a great addition and I don't think they'd look to trade him.
TB could be looking at depth/role players rather than trying to make a big splash, doesn't necessarily have to be any big names. Vancouver is in the market for a defenseman, Toronto was represented there and they have let it be known they are also shopping for a dman.

Malone is right where Deano wants him. Malone is not getting paid the big bucks coming up. If you look at his contract. Hes going from 6 million to 5 million next year. Then on to 3.0 and 2.5 the next 2 years. And hes injured and getting up their in age with a very large cap hit.
