Easy thread which player would you rather have playing on your bottom lines?

Agreed.

Sorry but i'm done with Pyatt. Hopefully PG picks up a forward or two at the deadline and either deals Pyatt as part of a package or sends him back to Hamilton.

And yes i'd rather have Belak kicking around as our 14th forward for those games against the Bruins, Flyers, Islanders, etc.

Dawes 2008-2009 with the Flames

14 goals - 18 assists in 66 games

Dawes for me.

Pyatt. Why would we want a scoring winger who can't play defense on our "checking" line?

Both are 4th liners, but without a doubt, Dawes

Pyatt doesn't even put up 4th line numbers

from what Ive read over the years, Dawes is the prototypical 4th liner player.

Energy, tough to play against, responsible and can chip one in.

Dawes is like a mixture of the good sides of Boyd and Pyatt.

Remind me who it was playing LW on our third line in the playoffs last year, and getting very good reviews: was it Boyd? Dawes? White?

Answer: none of the above. Now why is everyone so anxious to remove a successful player from our lineup?

Funny, but those who want him out of the lineup have been getting their wish a lot.

So, what are the results?

record of.....5-9-1 without Pyatt playing
record of...27-14-6 with Pyatt playing

So on the heels of these results, we now have people telling us they are "done with Pyatt"?

Personally, I'm getting to where I'm done with Martin.

Yes because Pyatt decides games for us... Get real. He's okay on defense, but horrible anywhere else. No grit, zero offense (rarely even passing; just dumping the puck), okay defense.

Having said that, there are more important things to worry about than Pyatt.

On the whole, I'd prefer Dawes.

He's small, but at least he has some offensive talent.

Tommy Pyatt shouldn't be in the NHL period.

Ha, you're kidding?

How much of that record would you say is a result of Pyatt directly?

I guess we all have an underdog that we root for

Nice numbers.

People will come in and say "Pyatt doesn't score, he's not responsible for any of those numers."

How many spots has our PK fallen without Pyatt (and Gorges) playing.

Pyatt was leading our forwards in TOI at the PK when we were #1.. then he slipped down and we were suddenly #3 and then he slipped out of the lineup and we're what? 11th?

I'm not saying Pyatt is the whole PK.. but he's a big part of it.

The one thing that was starting to annoy me with Pyatt though is his putting a shot on net from anywhere. I know you hear that a lot from coaches and the like, but he definitely should try to get a little closer before shooting.

We should use these stats to show that Gomez, Pyatt, 1st for Stastny is worth it to Colorado.
