Good thing Cowen will be back there to cover up for him.
Yeah expect a tough transition, but I'd expect him to get out of it to some degree. He still looks like an excellent standstill PP component, quick puck movement, vision, touch, one timer and if there's a chance to exploit a hole...Rundblad appears to be able to do it and then find an open man if they close it on him.

We may see the odd rush like we see all over his highlight reels...but for the most part he'll play like an NHL defensemen has to...he has all the tools to do that as well.

I kinda hope the pairing go:

Gonchar-Rundblad
Campoli-Karlsson
Phillips-Cowen

or

Cowen-Karlsson
Gonchar-Campoli
Phillips-Rundblad

And in the 3rd period, regardless of score we start using Karlsson, Gonchar, and Phillips in the top 4, and one of Rundblad/Campoli if we're down and one of Campoli/Cowen if we're up.
Late in games, I think no matter what we see a lot of Karlsson-Phillips as a pairing.

Please note, none of these are in order of 1st, 2nd, 3rd pairing, its just how I drew it up. I'd expect each pairing to get about 13-16 minutes in the first two period, and then one pairing 10 in the 3rd, one 6, and one 4, or something like that. Basically, everyone will play between 17-26, and some nights like 19-22, sorta like we did when Kuba was our #1D

Let me guess, another primary PP assist?

Edit: Damn, secondary....bust.

Edit again: 46 points for Rundblad. A Primary PP Assist.

Edit again: Goal or bust.

Hey CPheonixM, are you worried that most of Rundblad's points come on the PP? I know you are one that thinks Rundblad may hit his very high ceiling.

Another edit: Goal or bust? Goal. 47 points for Rundblad.

Do you have the list for alltime? We should show him moving up the ladder, its cooler that way . I cant watch the games, but if someone says he gets a point I will update his position on the list.

He's got 46 now, so he's 7th using logical tie-breakers, but let's say tied for 6th.

@ Steffe G for some reason it wont let me quote you but

Do you know if scoring the game winning goal in shootouts has always counted as a goal, I know Rundblad has at least had a couple of those and obv that influences how you interpret his stats

Yes, ever since the shootout was established in Sweden they've always counted it.

It goes the same for the goalie, the GWG in the SO is counted as a goal against. It's extremely stupid on both parts.

Guys, how did Wick look? I couldnt watch the game last night, but Senschirp said he was "trying to make an impression but doesn't have the line mates to create offensively." What'd I miss?

I thought he skated well and looked more comfortable than in pre-season. He was tenacious on puck carriers on several occasions. He panicked with the puck a little bit and turned it over as a result. It was a debut, and the Sens were pinned in their own end for most of the game.

As far as debuts go, I thought it was good. He's not an outstanding prospect but for a guy that might be able to play some years in the league, his debut didn't bother me at all. Will have to improve but that should go without saying for most players coming off the average "8 minute debut" that seems pretty standard.

He was admittedly nervous going in...so we should reserve judgment until he gets comfortable....if.

Is it just me or have the Sens posters as a collective done pretty well in tempering hype for this guy? Imagine someone told us he was capable of doing this, this year?

1 goal and 2 assists today for Rundblad. 47 points with three games to go. sixth all time in points during a season for a defender in the SEL.

One more point he's fourth, due to more scored goals. Two more points he's third, due to more scored goals. Three more points and he´s number two all time and the second defender ever to break 50 points.

Six points to tie the record in points, but to be number one he has to score more goals or get to get at least seven more points.

And of course, no defender this young has ever been close to this amount of points.

All time defenders in the SEL

He made that one time touch set up look too easy. Spezza Karlsson Rundblad on the same powerplay will be tough for people to handle regardless of who we select in the top 3. All 3 of those guys have outstanding vision and passing ability. Stick Bobby Butler in there and you might have a PP at a high enough caliber to give us a playoff hope. Especially considering we might have a goalie.

Could be a pretty interesting year...

I think he has 4 more games. Maybe 3, I'm not sure...
Regardless, he has a very good shot at 2nd, and if he keeps up what he's done the past few games he might have a shot at the record

The number of rounds has been increasing over the years...

06/07 and on: 55 rounds (12 teams)
96/97 to 05/06: 50 rounds (12 teams & subdivisions)
