Possible that we are looking to make room and then bring up someone from the AHL level. I don't really see us making a Blockbuster deal with the way they are currently playing added onto the fact we don't have much room on the cap
my first thought when I saw this was we needed a roster spot. If waived to Milwaukee, does he actually have to go? I could see him a scratch in Milwaukee every night but with the Nashville roster. just a thought
Right but that's what I'm saying why pay him his NHL salary in the AHL? I didn't think about cap implications. Perhaps that are trying to clear some cap room or someone asked for him to be waived. I guess we'll see here soon.
For the same reason we paid Sulzer NHL money to play in the AHL last season ... it was a better option than wasting the cap hit and roster spot on a player who simply wasn't going to play. It does no good to pay him his NHL salary and have that money count against the cap while he wastes a spot on the club's active roster.

Milwaukee could actually use an enforcer who can actually throw punches?

That would make sense if
A. We need the roster spots. We don't obviously right now.
B. We needed cap relief. With Sulzer and Svatos gone I don't see why we would. Of course I haven't done the legwork.
Belak is a great locker room guy right? That's all we ever hear. No way they send him to the minors still making NHL salary just for roster space or cap space when we don't need either considering where the team is standing at this moment. That's why I believe there HAS to be something else happening here. Whether they are clearing cap space for other players (internal or external) or another team asked Poile to waive Belak.
Halischuk is being called up. Still makes it 2 right?
You sure...where is everybody getting that? I haven't seen anything firm other than a quote that they would decide who to bring up during the flight to Dallas when it's discussed with the scouts/coaches (NP.com).

I'm still taking it with a grain of salt until I see it being official. I can't see it being too wrong though, especially with kids saying congrats to him.
Thank god. We finally maybe having changes headed our way. Sullivan and Sulzer to someone for a SCORING FORWARD. Hell, give them that bum Chet Pickard while you are at it. Worst first round pick ever.
You are abviously too young to remember Brian Finley. We do much better with 8th and 9th round goaliea....

I got a text through the Preds text service saying he was called up.
Poile said that he thinks he's going to Milwaukee, and that while they feel bad about it, he was told that he wouldn't be playing for us again.
I guess I just don't seethe point in humiliating the guy at this point in his career. If we no longer have to stick to 23 playersn, and we are going to have to pay him no matter whatn why not just let him finish in the pressbox rather than riding the bus with a bunch of snotnoses? Its not like milwaukee needs a fighter
