Eller >> Kadri
Weber + 2nd 2012 >> Philly Fist

What else you got

Don't forget taht there's a good chance that they can sign Richards this offseason without trading good players.

As for the Kings... they got the assets... but does Colorado really want to help them ?
Take your pick. Stepan, Boyle, Dubinsky, Anismov, DelZotto, Callahan. They can put together a much better package... I'm sure the Avs would want Boyle, and he's better than anyone the Habs can offer....then throw in Del Zotto and a pick. If I'm Colorado....if Subban and Patches aren't included, I'm taking a look at New York.

His value is very low, yes. But i think there have been way too many reports about certain teams being interested in him. Had jovanovski not injured himself, who knows?

Am I the only one not that impressed by Del Zotto? I find he's pretty brutal defensively.

As for I'd give up for Statsny, well I'd be willing to give up a pretty penny that's for sure.

Weber
1st round 2011
1st round 2012
Leblanc
Eller
and something else if I had to.

Habs have interest in Spezza?

From The Fourth Period:
http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/mtl110226.html

Supposedly, the Habs have inquired the Sens about Spezza and are also keeping their eyes on Penner, Huselius, and are still the frontrunners for Phillips. If I were PG, I would try as much as possible to make a deal for any of these players, but what would it take to get any of these players? Write me your opinion of which player you think the Habs should acquire and write me what PG would have to give up to make a deal...

That being said, I think that if Toronto is really in the thick of things (AKA adding Colborne) then Montreals offer would be something along these lines:

Eller + 1st + Kristo + A.Kost/(A player who is underperforming and could really use a change of scenery...I would say Gomez but )

To me that is an overpayment but you gotta give to get and keeping Stastny away from the leafs IMO makes this an underpayment.
I know no one will probably agree with me, but the logical player to be traded for Stastny is Plekanec. Colorado is blowing up there team, but they're re-tooling not re-building. Also, people think that if we get Stastny, we'll just magically get rid of Gomez. A responsible organization doesn't pick up a huge contract (like Stastny's) without a plan already in place to get rid of another one, and believe me, there is no plan to get rid of Gomez's contract--it's immovable. Anyone who think we'd go into next year paying 3 centers 18.9M a year is just plain dillusional. And it's not even for just next year; it's for 3 years after that. It's simply not economically feasible, and it hinders us from getting better at our key weakspot, the PF position. Imo, Statsny is a legit no.1 center, and Plekanec not so much. Plekanec has a better work ethic and probably plays harder, but when it comes to overall skill and talent, he's not at Statsny's level. All that said, Plekanec bleeds bleu, blanc et rouge, and is the ultimate team player. Add to the fact that the Habs just signed him to a long term deal, and just don't see them dealing him. But if it's not Plekanec, it's nobody: there's simply nobody else in the Habs organization that makes sense to trade in this situation, for both teams.

Signings do not count. Habs outbid everyone.

I'm talking about trades that brought a significant player over. The Gomez trade was nothing special. They helped the Rangers.

Would this not get the Stastny deal done??

COL: Stastny
MTL: Rämö, 1st 2011, Eller, Weber

Rämö would come to Colorado to play if he could be guaranteed to have a shot at being the no. 1 there.

Kadri is defintely "sexier" than Eller... but Gustavsson ? And why would TO deal him when they clearly are in need of goaltending...

As for the 2 1st rounders this year... don't they only have the Boston one, which will most probably be worst than ours ?

And with all the mess surrounding the Kessel trade... I think Burke will be a lot more carefull with his firsts... I don't see him trading them, even for Stastny.

The Mtl offer is much better, imo... but would that be enough ?

I know it's a lot to give, but for a guy like Statsny it's totally worth it!

honestly i dont know but I dont think Monster has any high value, especially with that heart condition that keeps on coming back. Hes 26 as opposed to Ramo being 24. Ramo seems to be doing well in Russia, im thinking someone might be more inclined to take a gamble on him but again, I havent seen him play and Im not sure how much weight a good season in the KHL has for GMs. Then again, a guy like Bobrovsky has come in the NHL and done well. So maybe someone is willing to give Ramo another shot

honestly I think for some team Ramo worth more and for other The Monster worth more but none of them are deal breaker for a guy like Stastny

Has there been any indication that Ramo will ever come to NA?

I would think a goalie that has been playing in the league for a couple of years would have more value than a goalie with a huge question mark as to whether he would ever come to NA

I don't know. A mid-1st, and two solid prospects for a #1 C. Hmm.

Would you deal Plekanec for a 1st, Joey Hishon, and Cumiskey?

Tough deal to make.
