I'm gonna guess neither Hemsky or Penner are moved by the deadline.

And Dean just said tonight and it would have to be a very special player to deal Schenn and said he doubts that he will. So, no trade. Onto something else.

It might just be me

but I think some people think the oilers will just give away Hemsky. He is more valuable to the oilers on the roster then trading him

it is not about over valueing him--it is about what he brings to the team and he bring a lot to the team

Yep, Dean isn't trading a prospect like Schenn that will likely be in the NHL next season for Hemsky. Oilers can keep Hemsky and enjoy him next season.

Then I guess it isn't happening. Lombardi essentially just said in the Kings broadcast that it would have to be "something special" for Schenn to be dealt. Clearly at this point, Hemsky doesn't fit DL's mold as that type of player.

Of course, LA still has the capacity to be the highest bidder w/o including Schenn but if Oilers' brass is going to be insistent on Schenn or nothing, then it simply won't go down.

Whats up with the Oilers??? They think Hemsky and Penner are the greatest thing to hockey since the puck... looks like those guys are staying and Tambelini will keep his head in his...

I love how the Oilers have said they arent moving Hemsky/Penner unless they receive a significant piece for the future AND that we'd love to keep them, but people freak and call asking for an overpayment 'stupid'.

We'll keep him, dont worry

EDIT: Plus this is coming from Sportsnet

The only thing that might have made this more plausible is if the Kings were losing right now and were out of the playoffs at this point in time. They are 7-1-2 last 10 and winning today so no pressure to make a radical move. If they were tanking near the deadline then they might be feeling the squeeze.

Lol what? It would make more sense for the Kings' to trade a way a key building block for the future if they were out of the playoff race?

Schenn isn't worth trading away Hemsky for. It would be silly to trade a 27 yr old, PPG playmaking winger for a might make it kid. Let's see what the draft brings and other teams needs next year. I'm sure there will be much better opportunities at the draft or next deadline, depending on the Oilers needs at that time.

Hemsky might not be seen as worth moving out for Schenn by LA/LA fans, and that's fine, but I'm awesomely relieved to hear this from Tambollini because I did not want a 2 players and pick with Simmonds being the main piece type of scenario. No offense to LA or Simmonds.

Thank god we're keeping hemsky! Schenn will turn into a mediocre centre at best.

Agree, it's not like the Kings are desperate. They are playing well the last month or so. No need to give up such an important piece of the future for a supplemental player, even if it is a good supplemental player.

Meh. DL doesn't have the balls to do a "Joe Nieuwendyk-for-Jarome Iginla" type trade.

It's a chicken race Lombardi will win. He won't trade Schenn and Tambellini desperately wants Schenn.
