Hemsky will not be moved to the Kings unless Schenn is coming the other way

Keep Hemsky, he's a ppg player anyways. No reason to trade a guy like that.

His value will significantly diminish when/IF he makes it to the NHL though. He just can't keep up to the speed of the NHL game and I doubt he ever becomes anything more than an average second line centre.

Why trade Schenn for an aging Iginla when Iginla wouldnt put the Kings over the top?

And the Kings arent an Iginla away from contending.

Exactly. Too many people over look this simple fact and go on about how overrated Schenn is.

So with that in mind, would you as a Kings fan trade Schenn for Hemsky?

Then he's not going to be moved to the Kings, because Schenn isn't going the other way for him alone.

Of course he would. According to him Schenn lacks speed, hockey sense, common sense and the ability to balance his check book and will be nothing more than an average player in the NHL.

So I guess we can safely say that Hemsky will NOT be traded now.

He is not worth a prospect like Schenn, sorry.

I can guarantee that Oiler fans will be happy if Hemsky is traded for Schenn.
I can guarantee that Oiler fans will be happy if Hemsky is an Oiler March 1st.

Either way Oiler fans win.....which hasn't happened much lately

F them.

How stupid is the Oil GM?

With arrogance like this I will laugh my ass OFF if they get stuck with nothing for the guy.

So lets say they can't make a deal and move Hemsky next year at the deadline, the return for a pure UFA rental will net them even less than they might get this year.

If a team like LA says that their potential star center prospect isn't open for consideration (and LA would HAVE to give more than just Schenn) then Edmonton either picks from their other talented players or takes their business elsewhere.

Here's the Hemsky "market" to date ... Pitt - No, LA - Hell NO.

Next.

Hey - maybe they can deal with Atlanta and get Antro and a 1st? /obvious sarcasm.

Fair enough, but don't be disappointed if Schenn leaves the coop. L.A needs higher quality line-mates for Kopitar. The free agents available in this day and age are a joke and you're not going to acquire a 1st line winger without giving up a damn good d-man or a can't miss prospect.

Time is on the Kings' side. All of their best players are under 25 years of age with even more of that type on the way. Seriously, there is no rush. Why trade a player that will likely be a very good #2 center for the next 8-10 years for the Kings?

It's not going to happen, at least not for Hemsky.

I don't care about his value. I want him to be a King. He kept up with the speed of the game perfectly fine when he was here. If you think otherwise I don't know what to tell you.

Honestly I think the Kings should stand pat. No one that they could realistically acquire would turn them into cup contenders. They just aren't good enough yet.

How about this, Kings keep Schenn, Oilers keep Hemsky and sign him to an extension, everybody's happy. How about Penner for Simmonds straight across.

I can't wait for Monday to be over and Scheen to still be Kings property. Then we can all go back to doing what be like best, laughing at Toronto proposals for Schenn in the offseason

Would rather give up a defenseman. If there's a such thing as having too many defensemen that would be LA's situation.

This the Kings can do, but I doubt that it happens until the off season, and that is perfectly okay with me.

Hemsky doesn't turn the Kings into a Cup contender. The team now won't win the Cup, but they're still probably one of the best four teams in the West and have only lost once in regulation in fourteen games.

Kings are a team built around defense. Dean will get someone if it isn't Hemsky. He might not be as good, but I would rather have Schenn.

It's 40+ years and NO Stanley Cups. IMO the Kings need to start making an effort to take a run at the cup. You've got a pretty solid team right now, and the clock is ticking. I'm not saying Hemsky is the answer, but by the time Schenn makes an NHL impact half this Kings team will be gone.
