Patience.

Can't squander more assets for a lost cause. Making the playoffs isn't a lost cause, yet. But making it out first round? Aint happening with this bunch.

Only make a deal if 1) it costs very little asset-wise, or 2) is in the long term interest of the team.

We suck - play the kids we think that have a shot for next year, cut the rest loose. Joel, SOB - get some picks for these guys. Franson or Klein - don't need both and Blum. Get to work on Weber's contract. Figure out if you can get SK to stay, if not, sign Goc. Give JP some real ice-time and see if he's got anything left in the tank; if he does and we really don't want him, find a place that does and one he'll go to. Plan a summer rally and thanks Sully party - and at it announce that you got Weber inked to an 8 year deal; then get to work on Ryan.

not panicking or really being pessimistic - being pragmatic. Fisher deal made sense when he was gonna' center a 3rd #2 line; he doesn't fit with Marty and SK, nor does Leggy. We can limp along hoping we get hot, or run the guys out there that will hustle, let the kids make a few mistakes and learn, and be just as well off as we are right now.

A loss to Dallas, one of only two teams in the west with a worse record than the Preds over the last 10...

Lose to Columbus today and the Jackets will jump the Preds in the standings, sending us to 4th in the division and there would be no option left except for panic.

It better not happen, the recent records say Columbus wins, but then again it is the BJ's and it is in Nashville, so we do have history on our side if nothing else. There has to be a Preds victory today, period.

The way we're falling like a lead balloon, don't be surprised if that "late first rounder" we sent to Ottawa ends up in the lottery.

Glancing through the schedule for March - most teams in the West scrum have 2 or 3 games against teams out of it - CBUS has 6 (and 2 in-hand on most) and Minny has 5 plus several games with softer East teams. Dallas - every game with someone in. I think mostly we're rooting for 2pt games!
