POTG Prustie, for scoring another shorthander and for signing a couple autographs for my kids pre-game.

Good The PK all day. (Barring the BS 5-3)

Bad Ref #11 (I believe he was the one that called both the boarding and the interference calls).

Redden Our first period shot total...1 through the first 19! Wow.

I'm telling you, Dubi is not 100%. He just doesn't look like himself at all. He's gotta be playing hurt & its starting to frustrate him.

Totally agree, if there's one thing you can count on from dubi, especially when he's not scoring, its being physical and beating people to pucks. He's a step behind and not engaging as agressively, he's obviously hampered a bit

When Tampa plays one defenseman all the way back in his own zone in one corner waiting for the dump in and our forwards fail to read this and dump it to him instead of soft cross corner you lose . Either Torts fails to recognize this or our players are completely without poise with the puck . Tampa played the same style NJ did against us last game and trapped us . Why can't Torts and the Rags figure this out .

Makes perfect sense, because a stress fracture isn't the kind of thing that can heal during the season, at least not without a significant period of time without playing. Dubi was out what? A week and a half? It's definitely still bothering him.

Saur's best game of the year. Strong contributions by Boyle and Prusty.

I try to blame Henrik but its not like two slouches are scoring on him.

Some of those penalties wouldn't have even been called in a basketball game. Is this disney on ice or hockey?

Dubi's my guy and all, but am I crazy or is that like the 3rd time this season he's had a shot point blank range in front of a half empty net and either hit the post or missed completely? That was for me one of those plays where before the guy even shoots the puck my ass came up off the couch with my hands in the air.. Then I got the "WTF?" look on my face as play continued.

His shot deflected off a defenseman's stick and then off the post. Not his fault

I dont understand how torts is asked "do you need to generate more on 3 first period pp's that's you got one shot on" and he says oh I don't know. He shrugs of every question about the powerplay like it's no big deal does he really not know? I'm starting to think so since the pp looks futile. We could have at least 10 more points from 2-1,3-2,1-0 losses if the powerplay was actually half decent. Torts post game comments just never seize to amaze me now a days.

Losing throws the problems or mistakes in the game into greater focus. Whether it be a bad turnover, poor goaltending, or any other ill fortune, people are going to be unhappy about it if we don't get the two points.

If we do, you can look back casually at the bad plays or bad calls, but if it didn't potentially contribute to you losing the game, then why get riled up over it.

What you're talking about is a matter of the most basic human logic and psychology. No one is going to change just because it isn't 100% consistent.
That's all very logical. It's also very logical to understand that over the course of the season, the refs are helping you as much as they are hurting you, so why whine about it, as if it is some sort of difference maker?

I guess it's similar to criticizing one of your defensemen when they get beat for a goal but when one of ours beats the other guy's defenseman, then it becomes a great offensive play.

Growing up playing sports I was always taught to suck it up and not look for excuses when I or my team got beat. To me, too many people whine when they lose, and look for reasons other than their own failings. Pet peeve of mine.

This has to be one of the downright most idiotic statements I've ever seen on here. It's logically absurd.

Are you truly this simple minded or are you posting this ridiculousness for no other reason than to contribute to your false sense of self-righteousness?

Either way, hard to take the question seriously at all.

POTG: McDonagh. Leading all NY skaters in minutes played. He and Sauer have really impressed me this season.

Good: McCabe looked good in his first game.

Bad: Gilroy was on the ice and not in the press box. Boyle for delay of game when we already down one man on a ****ty call.

We lost to a better team. On paper only our G is better. Their forwards are no comparison - 3 elite performers vs none on our side. We had a chance to get a point but we didn't deserve a win no matter how hard we have tried.

Lundqvist let in 2 pretty simular goals from simular positions - not good..

Again I liked Stepan this game...He's going to be a beast next year..

It sucks we lost, but I was impressed with the play of McCabe.
He actually PUT THE PUCK ON NET!

How often do we see that from a D-man these days.

[QUOTE=Levitate;31277999]Girardi is making bad decisions when he pinches lately. The pinches themselves are usually good but then he turns the puck over while trapped deep and leaves McDonagh hung out to dry[/QUOTE
I would rather blame the forwards who don't cover for him. that is the play for the d to go in , especially the one they scored on. the forward should have read the play and covered.
just to add. Staal does it all the time but he has Girardi back there.
and could hank make a save.
