I don't want to waste an asset for a Konopka type of player.

How is that so? He have since then traded all three of those players with nothing to show. Hossa was an elite winger at the time, something this organization hasn't had in the longest time. In 07-08 he would have been a great fit.

Since then we've traded Lapierre for Festerling and a 5th
Higgins in the Gomez deal
and Grabovski for Pateryn and a 2nd.

Gomez, Festerling, Pateryn a 5th and 2nd would never get you Hossa, but that's what we traded those three players for.

Hossa on our team right now would look mighty good, but if we had acquired him, our team wouldn't look like the way it looks right now.

Honest question, when has deadline day ever look good for us? Best trades we did around deadline was selling iirc.

Bobby Mac says a lot of people available from Edmonton, but asking prices are very high.

McGrattan to the #Ducks, late round pick headed to the #Bruins. Is lead up to another move.

This guy was the first to have the Boston deal as far as I know

I meant it wasn't looking good for us getting Konopka. A lot of posters said they were interested.

And we never do anything significant at the deadine.

Rivet for a 1st ? I'd say you're right.

Was the Kovalev trade a deadline trade, can't remember.

Boston apparently just traded him to the Ducks for a later pick.

What's the point? Why would anyone want McGrattan?

It would make a ton of sense for Nashville, they get rid of Dumont's contract and get a better player in return that gives them finiacial flexibility(if he costs too much to re-sign they can trade him) plus a more polished version of Ellis making peanuts in Weber.

Seriously both Belak and DJ King were on waivers PG better get on the phone and see if he can steal Getzlaf, Murray might be drunk.

Why would Anaheim want Mcgrattan? The only possible justification is protection for their AHL team...they already have Parros and Brookbank.

Okay, I'll take my words back on that one.

But it would make zero sense for us. And PG is not crazy.

If you go do Dallas Dave's site, it doesn't mention that the Habs are in on Richards, just LA and NYR. The Habs part in the hashtags is for this:

-Despite reports, Montreal are not close to a deal to acquire JP Dumont as people think. They're talking though, JP Dumont has yet to waive NTC.

Which is part of the article

RealKyper Nick Kypreos
Minor #NHL trade. McGrattan and Zimmerman to #Ducks for #Bruins Chaput and Laliberte.

I would assume that Mcgrattan is a throw in to get under 50 contracts.

Wish we were all great hockey minds like you.... hey, maybe Mcgrattan was thrown in the deal because there'a limit to the number of bodys you can have in the organisation, but that's just me, what do I know.
