Why are people making a big deal out of this? There is nobody on the list that wouldn't be at least considered for the team right now. Sure some big names got left off, but its just an early opinion from two hockey analysts. The final team probably won't look look like this, but it is certainly not ridiculous.
Fairly conservetive list. It definitely won't look like this obviously and they know it.
Would have been more interesting if they really took an opinionated one thats not as expected.
Sidney Crosby (A), John Tavares, Steven Stamkos, Jamie Benn, Rick Nash, Taylor Hall, Eric Staal, Claude Giroux, Jonathan Toews, Mike Richards, Jeff Skinner, Milan Lucic, (No 7th Forward, one of defensemen can play forward if needed)
Other Possibilities : Jeff Carter, Matt Duchene, Jordan Staal, James Neal
Duncan Keith, Mike Green, Tyler Myers, Alex Pietrangelo, Drew Doughty, Shea Weber, and the thing I got flamed for in the defensemen thread, Ryan Murphy and Ryan Murray as the 7th and 8th defensemen.
Other Possibilties : Marc Staal, Chris Pronger, Luke Schenn, PK Subban
Cam Ward, Carey Price, Jonathan Bernier
Other Possibilties : Marc-Andre Fleury, Roberto Luongo, James Riemer

If Subban makes the team, then I'll have to seriously question Canada's motives. If Subban gets in, I can't wit to watch Russia, Sweden, and USA tear up whatever pairing he's on.
If he can survive his rookie season as the #1 defenseman on a playoff team in a hockey-mad market, I don't think it's out of the question at all for him to be Olympic-ready in 3 seasons. Have people been "tearing up" whatever pairing he's on this season? No.
Furthermore, he'd likely be pretty low on the depth chart still, and used for the powerplay. He wouldn't be facing the other teams' top lines.
I think the Subban hate is certainly warranted. When the Habs played the Canucks, I couldn't stand the sight of him. He's downright irritating, in almost everything he does. But if you deny his talent, you're clearly letting your hate get the better of you.
In a post-script, I'd like to agree with the guy who mentioned Eberle. I have no problem with his WJC heroics being a deciding factor in him making the team or not. He's proven his clutchness.
