Official Trade Deadline Day Thread #2

First one is about to reach 1000 posts and we'll definetely need a fresh one for tomorrow

Hopes? Doubts? Maybes for tomorrow?

Hope : Richards (at the right price), Stastny (sp), a scoring winger basically

Doubts : Despite all the talk from everyone i doubt gilroy or MDZ go anywhere

Maybe : I'm thinking at the very least one roster forward and one d-man get moved tomorrow

Hopes: Stand pat.

Doubts: We get Richards, and if we do that it's a low price.

Maybe: Gilroy gone? Hopefully? Please?

Incarcerated Bob is saying we're looking for a 4th liner, but that doesn't make any sense to me, I'm pissed that I'll be busy all day tommorow, I would skip school, but it's the first day back from vacation and I have stupid driver's ed.

Hope: Richards or Stastny AT THE RIGHT PRICE

Gilroy and Anisimov can go. Moving Staal, Steph, MacD, Dubie, and Cally would be blasphemous.

My only hope would be Redden, Drury, and Joe Micheletti to Dallas for Richards and maybe 1 or 2 of their ice girls.

How can you "hope" for nothing to happen. We have quite possibly the best trader in hockey, and it's deadline day. **** standing pat. !

Hope: we don't acquire a 30+ y.o. concussed UFA center, no matter how cheap, b/c we'll sign him to a terrible contract over the summer and everyone on this board will b**** about it for years.

Hopes:
Rangers are able to bring in Richards for cheap
Bring in another "Prust-like" player
Trade Gilroy for a pick
Trade Christensen for a pick
Bring in a veteran AHL player for their stretch-run(Dawes, Locke, etc.)

Doubts:
They add another defenseman to upgrade Eminger
They bring in any big-name not named Richards

Maybe:
They trade Gaborik

I don't see why we should trade christensen or gilroy for late round picks. The draft is supposed to be notably weak this year so why stock up on LATE round picks of all things?

You're just excited because you have the day off

I would stay pat. I just don't see how we could acquire Richards without giving up some key young players. If we can get him for "cheap", then go for it.

Because they are redundant parts and Sather may be able to get more for them now than he will at the draft.

No matter how "weak" the draft is, which I am not sure how correct that statement is, there are always late round steals. I'd rather take a shot on a player like Fasth than have more bonus money rollover into next season because Gilroy and Christensen are still around. Just saying.

It'd be worth it to clear their salary from the cap.

I get a feeling that Chris Neil will be a Ranger by tomorrow night. Not sure about the centers. Not seeing a big trade. (Would love to be wrong)

Neil doesn't want to play in NY. The Rangers are on his 10-team No Trade List

God I hope not.

Did anyone watch the game against TBL??? I sure hope management did because if they did they would realize another 4th liner/tough guy is the LAST thing this team needs. We were more physical than TBL by far in that game. Our problem was we had no one who could put the puck in the damn net.

Hopes: We don't pull a Knicks with Richards.

Doubts: There will be any major moves on part of the Rangers. Changers are they're sticking with the young core.

Maybe: Gilroy, Avery, Christensen out for something else like Cam Barker on Defense.

It was more of the lack of support the forwards gave each other and not moving it quick enough to open ice.

But I agree we need another scorer in all reality. We need someone like how Phoenix got Lee Stempniak last year. Someone who has ability, can be had for cheap, and could use a change of scenery. Not quite sure who that could be, but that is what we need.

Boyles to Buf for 2nd

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=6166050http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=6166050

Did someone post this yet? I'm having a hard time believing Brad Boyes was traded for so little. Would have LOVED him for just a 2nd.
