Booth has a long contract and I know Dean has probably thought about that for awhile. That's probably the biggest concern but I don't doubt he wouldn't thrive with a guy like Kopitar. We will just have to see

Dean is trying hard for the big names, if any fellow gm gives in then we get our guy, if not Dean pulls the trigger for Booth, who believe it or not is a 3rd or 4th option at this point.

Again, Dean didn't waive Sturm for nothing, u really believe he did that to call up Lokti, no way....the barrell is loaded and Dean will be firing off like a Gatling!
Booth or Penner... please God let it be Booth or Penner.

I think that as far as the "right fit," Booth is the best option out there. High energy player who can score goals, plays a solid two-way game, loves to hit, and is young with upside. People forget that before his injuries, he was just breaking out. He had 22 goals in his second year, then 31 in his third, but wasn't able to keep his progress going. I think he's the type of guy who will hit 35-40 a few times if he's healthy.

The problem is, "if he's healthy."

I don't know Kopi.

It sure sounds like Dean, given his interview with Bob and Jim on the telecast, that Dean doesn't like the market this year. There's not a lot of sellers. That and he verbally said that Schenn basically isn't going anywhere unless its for a Gretzky-clone.

No way in hell do I believe that Sturm was waived "just in case" to give us "flexibility." Dean wants that roster spot free and that cap hit gone.

I would honestly be more shocked if he didn't pull the trigger on a player than I would be if we just stay as is. The only way Dean stays idle which would lead to him calling up Dwight King or Oscar Moller to fill in our top LW spot for the playoffs is if he is purposely trying to get fired. No more ********.. its time to ante up.

I for one am going to have trouble sleeping tonight with my finger hitting refresh every chance I get on about 5 different web sites.

He's playing chess, not checkers!

Sure, some fellow gm can have a change of heart on any potential deal that will either make it go threw or not. Nothing is for certian but one thing, dean is trying and if worst comes to worst, he will pick up booth, who I personally want.

I agree, I think Booth probably makes the most sense. Long term answer as well.

plenty of good reasons for a team to trade for booth...yet the problem highlighted above is also the reason for a team to trade booth. one more contact to the head and we may have another deadmarsh case

I'd like to keep Toffoli, I think he's going to be a pure scorer in the NHL.

1st and moller and/or tuebert. Depending on who is feeling the heat between tallon and dean.

I could live with the above.

Booth's contract runs for a few more years as well. At 4.25, thats pretty good for a guy like Booth who has scored 30 goals and is a potential 40 goal guy if he plays with Kopitar.

Was gonna say, I'd love to get Weaver back as a depth d-man. I think this needs a touch more though.

I don't know about Booth. Watching some Panthers games lately, he doesn't seem like a guy who would make Kings (much) better. He is fast and has a good shot, but he lacks some skill to be legit 1st line winger IMO.

Lately he's been a little off his game because he's still recovering from injury, but long-term, if he can get back to this form, he'd be huge for this team:

I like him more that he got a hatty vs the Quacks.

The perfect King right there.

Weaver would be good for adding playoff depth to L.A.'s D.
