I like Liles but that price is laughable. Seems like Sherman finally realized he got hosed on the Johnson trade and is trying to make up for it. Only way Voracek or Brassard are even in the conversation is if Statsny is coming back. As much as I hate Howson's "risk aversion" I'm glad he's not stupid.

Cool, then let's keep the responses in the proper context. There is a 99.99999999% chance Richards isn't being traded here.

But, if you are going to continue down this path, you might as well say Richards not moving his NTC is irrelevant because Howson won't pay the price to get him.

probably not going to land Arnott either..."I dont want to go to a team that is battling to make the playoffs, Arnott said on Sunday, according to the Star- Ledger. It would make more sense for me just to stay here (with the Devils) and battle it out and try and make it here. Ill have to see who is interested.

Who's working this Tradecentre show today? I've seen James Duthie, Pierre McGuire, Darren Pang, Aaron Ward, Craig MacTavish, Peca...

Laughable? I could have sworn that half these boards was all over Jake a month back because he can't score with an open net.

As I asked before, what is the going price for a 3/4 smallish mobile puck mover with a history of 40 point seasons?

For an intra-conference trade with a team fighting for a playoff spot, I would expect nothing less. But laughable? Nah.

I did hear a quote from Nieuwendyk that he will not trade him to a western team.

No one has said he won't waive for Columbus, but the Jackets are in the western conference and are not the Rangers.
Based on logic exhibited by the Toronto war room, Richards will be a Blue Jacket by 4:00.

Very intrigued ....

Might not be bad alternative if we miss on Liles.

Sportsnet: Atlanta's Nik Antropov has a modified "no move" clause. He was recently asked to provide 5 teams where he wouldn't go. May move.
Remember when Howson was negotiating for him?

Even if there is not a big trade Howson will still do some type of depth move like he has done each year he has been here.

It wouldn't bother me if that's the route they take, especially factoring in (rumored) cost.

Anybody else have their NHL Network free preview on TWC die just after the Dvorak trade?

I still have no problem moving Voracek but not for a 30 year old defenseman with 1 year left on his contract. If Voracek gets moved it had better be for a top center or true #1 dman.

I mentioned his contract status and already said that it might be different if he had more then one year left.

Having said that, it's a lot of things, but laughable is a stretch.

Completely agree. Jake is playing well and should only be shipped out for an upgrade

Bad trade for Atlanta now. This is whats happen when the player has lower price than his qualities. Bergfors is better than Booth and he gone for Dvořk.

My confidence is shrinking by the second. Maybe Howson's a miracle worker, but I don't see anything happening. I'm starting to swing into the court that feels during the first intermission tomorrow, we'll hear Howson say, "we just didn't have the assets to make a move."

He should have a t-shirt made with that slogan and sell it at the Blue Line.

Let's revisit this post at 2PM. Things should be crazy by then. If not, then I might share your opinion.

You realize only one move has been made so far this morning, right?
