Calgary's trade bait is Steve Staios and Tom Kostopolous? Good luck...

#Caps trade 3rd in 2011 and Jake Hauswirth to FLA for defenseman Dennis Wideman.
Florida is the only team doing anything today.

I don't think so. 1 trade on deadline day? Even with all of those trades before the deadline there are still going to be plenty of moves.

They didn't really give anything up for Wideman but they really don't need another turnover prone d-man either.

This. It's a game of poker right now.

Doesn't make much sense unless they plan on moving him in a package for a second line center.

I meant for "real moves", there will be teams adding the depth signings for 2/3/4 round picks but with the possibility of Oilers/Panthers staying out, the "big names" are gone unless Richards moves.

Howard just signed a 2 year contract at $2.25 per. IMO, that makes Quick and Bernier's deals even better. Howard isn't as good as Quick, nor does he have the potential of Bernier. I know he's the leader of wins, but that's because of the team he plays for. When they weren't scoring much, he was terrible earlier in the year.

... He isn't??? Hmmm

And the whole basis for the notion of Quick having a good season in 09-10 comes directly from the number of wins he had, because every other number was poor.

i think most people consider quick's 09-10 average at best at this point, but i still don't think his numbers bared out how good he was early in the season. was definitely flat out bad in the last two months.
