That was when there were 40-50+ trades on deadline day. There's only been 3 so far today.

Edm's primary need is on the back end and in a big way. Everyone knows this including both of our GM's. It wouldn't cost Schenn to get a deal done but it might cost a rostered D man plus a prospect D like Forbort and our 11 first round pick.

I would have to wonder if this is what is really going on behind the scenes. I would have to wonder about this pretty seriously.

Whisky, Voynov/Forbort plus a first might not be what the Oil will accept but it might be what DL would offer. No way DL would do the deal with Greene going back to the Oil.

If any counter asked for A Mart instead of Whiskey then the rest of the parameters would change but it might be closer to what everyone is expecting. A Mart Forbort first 11 (or Voynov) and the Oilers gaping hole on the back end is set in gold for the next several years.

Will they take it for Hemsky plus a mid round pick? They would be stupid not to but that doesn't mean that they will.

Geez. This has been Florida's year for trades.

Who gives a shiat. DL is not going to trade Schenn, Simmonds, 1st rounders for quick fixes. That is the bottom line. If you're going to trade assets like that, you better be getting a Nash type player.

I look for DL to make his move in the off season when prices come back down to earth.

IMO - There is NOTHING wrong with the Williams re-signing being the only Kings news today. I'm totally fine standing pat now that it looks like we'll make the playoffs.

The Williams does feel like a PR move, though.

It comes out right around the time the whole 'Brad Richards is most likely staying' thing came out, and Lombardi will just say the prices were too high and that signing Williams for four more years is a great step in the right direction.

Closer it gets, waiving Sturm looks freaking stupid. He wasn't amazing, but he was still a guy who did well when given time.

It's good for a laugh or two. Puck Daddy saying thought it was a good idea the Kings got rid of "softy" Purcell. Thought that Halpern was a great signing but that Modin wouldn't do much. That was Eklund-esque in the prediction department alone.

No personal income tax in Florida. From what I understand the players are taxed based on where they play each hockey game so 41 games a year Florida hockey players aren't taxed personally.

For those disappointed in the lack of activity from the Kings, take a look elsewhere in the league. Not a lot of movement. It is a buyers market with very few sellers and not many names available that would really help this team (least none that are available for a reasonable price).

He will be putting up 20+ goals and likely 70+ points with Kopitar as a minimum. You can't turn your back on it. Sooner or later we have to make a deal for a player like this. Simmonds is on the bottom of possible casualties for such a player, you can't overlook an offer like that.
He has been in the league all of 3 seasons and is what.. 22/23 years old? I'm sorry but the jury is still out on what Simmonds could be. No doubt that Hemsky is the better player but I don't think sacrificing Simmonds for Hemsky is a smart move. Simmonds is more likely to play 82 games too.

We're two points from being OUT of the playoffs...

Just because we're 5th doesn't mean crap. Nashville was 4th two weeks ago, and they're now outside. If we lose a game or two, then we're back in 10th place.

We have a gaping hole at wing that got even more cavernous when we shipped of Sturm. Dean's got to make a move of some sort today.

If DL doesn't make a move, he'll have lost Sturm for what reason exactly? Can somebody please explain to me why DL couldn't have left Sturm on the roster and waived him IF he actually made a move today?

She hasn't been a major part of the LA Times in years. You'd go whole months between seeing her reports.

We only have one actual reporter for the Kings and that's Hammond....
