Kind of surprised we haven't heard about Hejduk today. Has he unequivocally stated he won't waive his NTC?
I think it has been said that he wants to stay with Colorado and that the Avalanche respect that he has had his entire career with them and wants to finish there.

ive heard the same from the talking heads on 2 or 3 occasions. sorry no links to back it up though. both Hedjuk and Foote's names were coming up as possible assets that COL could move for picks/prospects, but both want to stay in COL
I don't want DL to really make a major move...just a minor tinker that fits the roster...
Yes.
I'm still pinching myself that we're getting a 2nd line center in Schenn starting next season for relative peanuts. When's the last time the Kings development/farm system was able to plug a hole that significant?

This is what happens when you get a bunch of lawyers together. They wait until the 11th hour thinking this is when "real" negotiations took place. This is the strategy that Goodenow employed. Worked wonders for him.
He had to clear waivers before a trade could be made. I think that takes 24 hours. It would be a timing issue regarding making a deadline deal. I think that is correct and would be the rationale.
