I think Poni should give his up. That has been Penner's number longer, Poni changes his when he joined us. Though both Penner and Poni were 23 with their original teams

"Those are the same talking heads who rave about Schenn, right? I guess they could be talking about this year but then I have to agree, we have done pretty well with what we have."
exactly. earlier they were talking about how great of a prospect he is and where he fits into LA moving forward. 2-3 hours later "LA needs a #2C". not to mention they completely dismiss what Stoll and Zus has done for the club.
now the talking heads keep hammering on the Kings needing a #2C. i guess they don't see the job that Zus and Stoll have done for the club this year. i guess they also don't see the fact that next year Schenn and Lokti will be slotting in also.
They're all just taking turns playing the role of the contrarian. First you see some of them listing Chicago in their Top 5 teams for a playoff run. Then they start babbling about how Chicago needs another d-man. Then someone else says no they need a goalie. Then it's no they need a d-man, a goalie, and a depth forward. Then they trade for a d-men and they start saying they need to get another d-man.

Don't expect anything better than Smyth and Willy. When Penner is not busy eating cheeseburgers, he can be a solid contributor ala Brown, with better hands.
Why do I get the feeling the Kings will utilize the dump and chase even more? you just know it's going to happen..
Excellent deal... happy we pick up another year or two of being very competitive while keeping and developing our prospects.
This is where I now make a solemn promise not to say "I told you so" about Teubert developing into M. Greene Dos while bombing our forwards for the next five years.... he'll have a surprisingly good career.
