I think people are way to high on this team if they think Brian Boucher can win this team a Stanley Cup, cause he's probably going to start in the playoffs.. I don't see how he can outplay a guy like Thomas or Luongo..
If the flyers end up making the finals I have my doubts the canucks will even be there, they dont seem to ever play well in the playoffs, and the sedins seem to dissapear, luongo has never really been "great" and the blackhawks have obviously laid the groundwork to take them out, personally I could see chicago placing 8th and upsetting them in the first round.

By the time playoffs roll around, I think Luongo is too worn out from starting close to 70 games a season to really keep it up through the playoffs.

The Hawks don't really have the same pieces that dismantled Luongo so badly...especially Byfuglien. He dominated Bobby Lou.

One of Detroit or Vancouver is coming out of the west, I think. I really think this is the year Van breaks out of it, but could be wrong.

Either way I think if the flyers do end up making the finals it sets up well for us, the west is so close, and teams are tough, there is probably going to be quite a few games 7's in the west, and teams are gonna be beaten up

there isnt a doubt in my mind a team like calgary or chicago could take canucks the distance

Obviously Chicago isnt the same team, i'm just saying they kind of laid a blueprint on how to get to luongo and the canucks

I am.... I'm glad its over with so we dont have to listen to crazy vokoun rumors, knowing you would need to break up the team to get the overated, overpaid, unproven goalie

Would you not have been OK if they had gotten Versteeg today rather then a couple weeks ago?

Yup, our move was made before the deadline so there is no reason to go nuts today.

Well we made our move a couple weeks ago for Versteeg. And we picked up Boynton to be our 7th/8th d-man (dpending on Bartulis).

So its not like we stood pat,w e just made our moves before today.

I hear you, why wait till last minute, just getting a consensus. Plus, i forgot about Holmstrom and younger brother there too.

If the flyers don't win the cup this year, then I don't know how we are going to do it. Homer has assembled a pretty fearsome team.

Just saying, just saying... wouldn't of broken my heart to get a goalie that can steal a game (between the end of game 6 and now). Just saying.
But i believe it can be done without.

No real top-flight goalie ever became available...I'd still love to have Rolosson, though. That guy can turn his game up to a pretty damn high level when he has to.

But, I'm okay with what we have. They're going with a team-first concept and I think Bob will likely see time in the playoffs, and hopefully catch fire.

Vancouver added some good depth today. Washington... adding Wideman, I don't get that, Arnott in the playoffs is probably a different player than he's been so far this year, at least the Caps better hope so.

Good to see the Kings really going for it as well. I like that team, and now they're pretty much set for next year as well and that is with a couple of really intriguing prospects such as Voynov and Hickey pushing for spots.

Bryan Allen might have lost a few steps after his knee problems, but he's a kind of defender that the Canes needed.

Yes he has. It's up to THEM to get it done.

Our goalies have stolen games minus the SO's - I think it's been our PP that needs the most work. then our ability to play for 60 FULL mins hard!

I think ANA quietly put together some nice pieces to surprise a top seed. If Hiller is healthy, they have good scoring and they picked up some good size and grit over the past few weeks.

I think Roloson would have been a very good addition and I have believed this for over a year now.

What is our record when only scoring 1 goal? 2 goals? 3 goals?
I know its a team game but it seems like its all or nothing (tons of goals or bone dry).
I just think our scoring covers our d and our d covers our pedestrian goaltending. Its no coincidence that we have no shut outs, which is a luxury stat but i find it alarming at the same time. Big ups on our powerplay needing work and a 60 min game played here or there!

You and me both. I fully, firmly believe that adding him at the TDL last year = Cup.

Evidently the Canucks agree, as he's on pace to start 60 games this year.
