Mitchell actually was pretty decent his rookie season with the Leafs, don't know why but his game went south under Ron Wilson.

He has pretty decent wheels and he plays his best when he gets in the dirty areas, the trouble is he seemed to steer away from that sort of play lately. Has a decent shot too.

Part of me hopes he can be successful with you guys just because it was getting annoying how much my fellow Leaf fans ragged on the guy.

As frustrating and just flat out not good of an NHL player John Mitchell is, he will do wonders for your AHL team! Seriously, I'm not even trolling, The Marlies will miss him! He was developing some chemistry with Kadri down there

Mitchell

its funny what the Leafs fans are saying about Mitchell, I guess he is our Christiansen, the guy we all want to trade. They call him John Malkin because he thinks he has Malkin skills. They have so many threads about him, so I think the 7th rounder was prob move valuable then a guy they could of picked off waivers along with the other guys they could of got off waivers for nothing. Remember a guy named Lundqvist wasn't he a 7th round pick.

People really seem to miss that 7th, Im sure we can reaquire one this offseason. How people are upset over a 7th Rd pick is beyond me.

I am upset we didn't trade away Christensen and Gilroy and maybe acquire another veteran defenseman rental.

yea because Didiomete has proved to be an NHL player . if he does make it, it will be as another Ryan Hollweg Tootoo type.

Boy how quickly we forget. This guy scored 2 goals and an assist last year when the Leafs came back and beat us. Honestly you guys can trash this guy all u want but he actually has some decent potential and i am happy to have him. I hope he gets a chance to show his stuff.

Did I just see that TSN that the Rangers traded a 7th rounder to the Leafs for Mitchell AND a 7th rounder?

Wait so he is an amazing AHL player but not good NHL player. I think this guy just got a bad rap with Mr wilson who likes to pick on guys who have confidence.

You're seriously complaining over those 2 deals? Really?
no one will every be happy. imagine NYR got richards, they would be complaining that too much was given up. the fans are hopeless nothing will make us happy

He wasn't a huge scorer at the juniors level, but he has put up 20 point seasons.

Guy is a Tim Kennedy replacement. He brings about the same stuff, credentials, ect.

Only thing that miffs me a little is that he was on waivers very recently, and we didn't grab him for free then. But a 7th is a 7th.

Is that a mistype? Did we really swap sevenths and get mitchell too?

Wilson actually gave the kid alot of slack last year. Problem is Mitchell over handles the puck and just isn't strong enough on the puck to handle being a checking center.
