We need two forwards. We have oodles of cap space. We have money to get two top notch forwards. If Anderson signs and Murray finds an NHL coach, we will be a playoff team.

Thanks, SenzZen. In Kuba's case it's 2/3rds of the remaining contract spread over 2 years, right?

That's my understanding. I've been wrong many times before, though

Is it just me or are people unusually harsh on Gonchar? Calling him a buyout candidate is knee jerk at this point (even though that isn't an option).

Maybe it's just me, but the guy was setup to fail this year because of the circumstances:

1: Clouston can't run a PP worth a crap. Negating Gonchar's best assets.

2: Leclaire gets injured, Elliott turns into a sieve as our one and only option.

Under these circumstances, what else is Gonchar supposed to do that makes him look like he's worth 5M? I seriously think that people really underrate what a veteran guy like him is capable of. If the key issues are addressed I think people will be eating a lot of crow next year.
