Cage/shield compatibility

I have a CCM V08 helmet and I'm thinking about getting a new cage or a fishbowl or one of those half and half things. Are there any models out there that will not fit the helmet?

Also, the helmet is a large. What size cage or shield do I get?

In my experience, get the same size cage as the helmet.

I don't think the Bauer full shields work on the V08 but hopefully someone can correct me on that.

I have the same question

Would the CCM FM480 Cage fit the Bauer 4500 helmet (if they are both larges)

Probably, but you should really go into a store and check it out. Cages can be bent in or out for width, but I would definitely check first. I have a Bauer cage on my CCM helmet and it works fine after a tiny bit of bending.

IMO, Bauer true vision cages look horrible, I have a CCM cage on my Bauer 5500, looks sick and the cage gaps are larger for greater vision.

But whatever you decide on, don't show up with one of those Bauer Recon full shields, whoever designed those should be fired from the research and development department

Yes, that cage is the same as the Jofa one that came before it. Its a pretty versatile/universal cage, I've got a large one, in chrome, and had it on a Bauer 5500, Bauer 4500, Mission Intake, and my current RBK 8k (switched to visor though). You should be fine mounting that on the 4500, its a nice cage as far as cages go.
