The Good: McDonagh, McCabe on the PP

The Bad: Another 3-2 loss, losing to a team right behind us w/ games at hand

The Redden: MZA can't hit the net!!!!

HM for The Redden: The refs.

Miller was great. It also helps he faced a bunch of snake bitten forwards who have no clue what the dimensions of the net are. Perfect example tonight; Stepan shoots it right into his chest with a wide open net. Great save by Miller? Sure, but put that puck on a goal scorers stick and it goes in 9 times out of 10. Sick of it.

MZA has failed us time and time again. He has had so many chances this season. Two golden opportunities tonight and he couldn't find the back of the net. Give Miller all of the credit you want because he was great but the player has to have some accountability. He needs to FINISH. With the number of minutes we give this guy he has to FINISH. Effort doesn't matter unless you get results. Results is what matters the most. You don't make the playoffs by receiving an "A" for effort. 3 goals in 30 games is unacceptable.

Redden: Our playoff hopes slipping away.

Too mad to even think about this game, but whatever.

Mccabe is solid. McDonagh is the man.

Anisimov was good tonight.

POTG: The officials
The Good: Once again, the effort
The Bad: Inability to finish, while NOT his fault, Lundqvist's inability to make a key save.
The Redden: Groundhog Day, over and over and over again.

I'm not one who believes breaks even out over the course of a season. The Rangers are just not a very lucky team. It seems like anything that could go wrong does. And, when the Rangers do get breaks, they all happen in the same game, hence 7-0 and 6-0 against Washington.

Also, once he put on a Ranger uniform, his scoring ability would vanish.

It wasn't just lack of talent that lost us the game tonight, it was boneheaded stupidity as well. Wolksi's lazy penalty, Prospal's stupid dive, and how many times is one of our defenseman going to streak in front of Lundqvist with his back to the shooter resulting in an own goal on the PK? They can't be making mistakes like that considering it's already such an uphill battle to score goals.

McCabe, as good as he is on the PP, is pretty bad defensively. I'm loving him on the PP but hating him on the PK. Staal needs to come back ASAP.

Dubi-Anisimov-Cally line looked great, our best line of the night. Everyone worked hard. But some of the players were not playing smart hockey, and the usual inability to finish bit us in the ass once again.

Questions to those who watched the game (I fell asleep):

1) Were there any wraparounds?

2) Do I need to put the facepalm in the splash image? (i.e., that bad?)

Prospal looks done....that stupid dive attempt basically gave the Sabres the equivalent of a PP for the third goal.

Our lack of finish is just embarrassing. Miller wasn't even very good. He gave up so many rebounds that led to WIDE OPEN GOAL chances that nobody can finish.

This team needs a star. With Jagr we we're almost a 100 point team, and this team is better than that team was besides Jagr of course. Gaborik isn't cutting it.

I am not asking for Zucc to carry this team on his back, he had 2 beautiful chances to score and he failed, 1 goal, 1 point for us possibly 2. How many 3-2 losses can this team manage? We won't make the playoffs, this game goes with the Blue Jackets, Islanders, Devils, and Habs game where the Rangers should have gotten a point but due to mistakes and an inability to score a goal with key times we lose again.

The Bad: Stepan - missed WIDE OPEN NET
Zucc - Missed open net and couldn't score 1 on 1
McCabe - 2 turnovers = 1 Sabre goal
Girardi - what were you thinking, McDonagh is carrying your a$$

The Redden: Prospal - Nice dive, what were you thinking?
The officiating, just awful, AWFUL

I'll say it once again.. When your top scorer is Brian Boyle, you have no talent..

I'm talking hypothetical man, everyone saying to stick with the youth, at some point we need someone who can put the puck in the net. AA isn't developing into a 30 to 40 goal scorer.....ever. having a young core is good, but when that young core can't score....well we have endless 3-2 losses.

That's a little harsh on Boyle, but the fact remains; Boyle is a great 2nd tier talent, but still not a 1st tier talent.

Dont forget shorthanded 3 on 1 and it rolls off our guys stick.....

Too many plays where it just rolls off our sticks with no pressure on us....

Lack of focus concentration and that champions spirit to get it done....

Couple things. Ryan Mcdonaugh had a fantastic game yet again, kid is an absolute stud back there. With so few important games remaining in the season, one would expect to see at least above average officiating. But this was bottom of the barrell. This had to be the poorest officiated game all season, imo. Blatant calls that were let go, and at this point of the season, it just simply cannot happen. Blame it on our inability to finish, which is obvious, but this rests squarely on the shoulders of the zebras tonight, period.

IDK about the no "key" save stuff. He made a few real solid saves, fought off a few pucks sure, but he didn't have a chance on any goal. In fact, all three goals that he let in were better than any goal Miller allowed (granted Miller was better tonight).

To look to Lundqvist in a loss like this is really starting to stretch things.

Well because with him and without him is the same 3-2 loss. Take the Kings game for example; a 3-3 game we win in the shootout. What's the difference between that and a 3-2 loss? Gaborik actually scored. Not happening enough.

Prospal
Sucks , torts sucks , prospal
Should only be used in offensive zone PP face-off situations .Prospal cost us that game with his crippled bonus aided knee . Leave your feet better get the puck . Rangers only won 3 -11 since he's back
