A year ago we moved out picks because we thought the draft was deep. There's no Crosby or Ovechkin, but there are some great top players in the draft and we think there's excellent depth.
We have a good team in Binghamton this year. We've tried not to decimate them, but we'll try to make those players available to them as the year goes on. Butler and Condra have good shots at Ottawa next year. We're very pleased with Colin Greening who has come in and looked very good. Lehner has a very bright future with the organization. Rundblad is a star in Sweden, Jared Cowen is coming. We have good players in the system, we're just trying to add to the group.
Part of the reason we could trade players like Campoli is because Cowen has matured as a player. He'll be a defensive defenceman, and a good one. Rundblad will be of Erik Karlsson calibre. Wiercioch in the minors has been slower developing, but we'll probably call him up so that fans can see him. Jakob Silfverberg has scouts raving about him, but fans could see him next year.
Binghamton's secret is fast, young, enthusiastic guys who are working hard. We need to add youth and enthusiasm to our lineup, and we'll get more good games like we saw yesterday.
