Mock other fans? They'll be dead from shock! Who needs to mock when you've won?

Actually I am a bit weird on this point. I could really care less if the Leafs win the Cup - not that it would not be fun or anything, but it is not like my life will be better or anything from it. I would just rather see the team always competitive because it is enjoyable to watch a good team in a real competitive battle. And it is fun to dream, debate and analyze.

Really, the only reason why I would like to see the leafs win the Cup is just to shut up those tools who keep reminding Leaf fans about 1967. I mean really, how fair is it to ridicule a fan base that was subjected to a senile, xenophobic, child molester who owned the team that you happen to be a fan of because it is your home town? Heck, Ballard makes Wurtz and Jacobs look like good. But you never see Leaf fans rubbing salt into the wounds of Blackhawk and Bruin fans.

Other than a few below average years under Murphy it has been awesome to be a Leaf fan since Pat Burns and Fletcher took over.

I find its a bit of selective memory from these people as well. They like to go back to 1967, but no further. It's like, your team hasn't won in a while, but they've still done better over history than my specific team, so I'll leave those alone. Over the least 10 years the Leafs have been one of, if not the most successful NHL organization, but they seem to let that slip.

In regards to the question at hand. No I wouldn't Mock (whats the point?) and Yes to the second. I think he'll play another 8-9 years and produce well for most of them.

IF the Leafs win a cup in the little time left to me on this mortal coil I will be generous with others, kind to Sens fans, and beneficent to all. Why on earth would I ruin a heavenly moment (too long in coming) by being petty?

I will overflow with good will. I will be a river to my people.

Unfortunately I will also awaken and realize it was all an absurd dream.

I'll be too busy dancing naked in the street to mock other teams fans.

Mind you, this would not be a pretty sight and my neighbours would probably call the cops, but it's something I said I'd do if the Leafs ever do win the Cup in my lifetime. Besides I'd be too happy to care.

I say if the Leafs win the cup, we take the parade to Ottawa. Could be some good fun.

I have long sworn to walk up Yonge Street in the nude should the leafs ever win the cup or, in a more likely event, clod Belak score 50 goals.

Needless to say this will also not be a pretty sight. Any fools dumb enough to gaze at me will be struck temporarily blind (and be grateful for it).

Mock other team for not winning the cup?
Frankly it doesn't make much sense to me.
How terrible and humiliating is it to not win the cup, I mean 30 teams
29 of which fail to win. Clearly it's terribly humiliating not to win with such favourable odds.
The majority of the teams in the NHL have never won the cup before.

I can just imagine trying to mock the Habs...
Ha! you failed to win the cup in one specific year in over a 100yr history.. so terribly shameful!
Such a ridiculously poor franchise... you've won more stanley cups then any other team in NHL history, but you suck... you missed this year!

Rather pointless to mock another team for not winning the stanley cup, because even the most successful team (Habs) have failed to win the cup far more often then they've succeeded.

Then again, I'm something of a freak that isn't particularly concerned whether we in the Cup, granted it would be great but I cn imagine far better things.
I'd much sooner be a winning team for 10yrs that never wins the cup then be a losing team for 9yrs, but happens to win the cup 1yr.
Similarly I'd much rather watch an excited offensive minded hockey team with acrobating goaltending that loses most of their games then an ultra defensive, trapping team that wins most of theirs.

All considered, since 1990 or so the good times have vastly outnumbered the bad times. We haven't win the cup but we've seen a hell of a lot more success then most, and we've managed to play exciting hockey in a trapping era.
I'm content.

I can't give you an answer..

I don't think I would be able to stay standing when we finally win. And I don't mean because I'll be dead...

yup, I'm with you. my cable costs me $80-$90 a month including Leafs TV. I go to about 3-5 games a year. I jam on these boards "wasting time." I consider this all free entertainment. All I ask is for the Leafs to be is relevant and entertaining.
